On the morning of April 10, Ding Wei, member of the Standing Committee of the Shenmu Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department, Liu Xiaobo, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, He Shuqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, Duan Yunhui, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Ministry of People's Armed Forces, and other municipal leaders came to Lijiayuan Village, Shayuan Town to participate in the voluntary tree planting activities in the spring of 2024 in Shenmu City, and called on the majority of cadres and people in the city to actively participate in afforestation activities with practical actions, so as to add green heritage and ecological advantages to the high-quality economic and social development of Shenmu. The main responsible comrades of the Shenmu Municipal Party Committee Office, the People's Congress Office, the Government Office, the CPPCC Office and other departments, as well as the main responsible comrades of various towns and streets, as well as cadres and workers of the forestry system, participated in the voluntary tree-planting activities.
The tree planting site was in full swing, everyone worked in groups of three or five, cooperating with each other, wielding shovels and shoveling soil, supporting seedlings and cultivating soil, and watering the cofferdam...... After carefully completing each process and planting each sapling, the newly planted trees will stand tall and full of vitality in the warm spring breeze.
In the tree-planting activities, the responsible comrades of the forestry department also gave a detailed introduction to the progress of the city's forestry and grass construction projects. In recent years, Shenmu City has deeply practiced Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, coordinated the promotion of high-quality economic and social development and high-level protection of the ecological environment, accelerated the implementation of the ecological protection and high-quality development strategy of the Yellow River Basin, continued to work "green protection, green increase, green use, and living green", adhered to strict governance, strong protection, and building barriers, and actively implemented key projects such as natural forest protection and returning farmland to forest, and the city's ecological environment has been significantly improved. At present, the city's various forest preservation area is 4.95 million mu, wetland area is 240,000 mu, and the forest coverage rate is 43.2%.
Plant a piece of green, share the spring of the city. This year, Shenmu City will firmly establish the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", take the deepening of the "three years" activities as the starting point, strictly implement the "forest chief system", vigorously promote the land greening action, and implement the integrated protection project of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasses and sands in the Shenmu Mu Us Sandy Land in different sectors and steps, as well as 18 forest and grass projects such as the governance and restoration of degraded ecosystems in northern Shaanxi, and plan to add 253,000 acres of forest and grass area to build a beautiful home where man and nature coexist in harmony.
