In order to appropriately reduce the burden of electricity charges on "one household with multiple population" families, and improve the satisfaction of residential users with electricity. Recently, the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission formulated and issued the "Notice on Matters Concerning the Improvement of the Electricity Price Policy for Residents with Multiple Populations", which will be officially implemented on May 1, 2024.
The "one household with multiple population" electricity price policy refers to the policy of giving preferential electricity charges to residents living together at the same address after the number of residents living together reaches a certain standard. At present, our province implements the tiered electricity price standard for residents stipulated in 2012.
In recent years, with the increasing improvement of residents' living standards and the continuous growth of residents' demand for electricity, in order to effectively reduce the burden of electricity charges on households with more than one household and improve the satisfaction of residents, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission has drawn on the practices of other provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) to formulate and issue the "Notice", which has improved the electricity price policy of "one household with multiple populations" for residents in Yunnan Province from three aspects.
(1) Refer to the practices of other provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) to reduce the standard for determining the number of people in "one household with multiple populations" from 10 or more to 6 or more.
(2) The number of residents living together at the same address, such as the Resident Household Booklet and Yunnan Residence Permit issued by the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department, (including foreigners holding long-term residence certificates issued by our province), shall be used as the basis for policy determination.
(3) Expand the scope of policy implementation to all "one household, one meter" residential users in Yunnan Province who have not used their residences for business activities.
