The tree shape is different
Spring flowers are perennial deciduous shrubs of the genus Frangipaniaceae, and forsythia is a perennial deciduous shrub of the family St. John's worn.
Although they are all deciduous shrubs, the shape of the trees is markedly different. Spring flowers have soft branches that usually bend downwards, while forsythia flowers have upwards and are more upright.
So you see, those branches that are soft and bent into an arch are spring, and those that are erect and have their heads raised are generally forsythia.
The branches of the spring flowers are always in clusters and have no trunk. Although forsythia is also a shrub, it can form lignified old piles, and the main trunk is thicker and obvious.

Branch unequal
The branches of the two plants are also distinctly different.
The branches of the spring flower are green and quadrangular in shape, while the branches of forsythia are gray and cylindrical.
The branches of forsythia are hollow, while the branches of spring flowers are solid. As you can see from the pruned cuts, the branches of the forsythia are hollow.

The flower shape is different
Both spring and forsythia flowers are golden in color, but the shape of the flowers is noticeably different.
Normally, the spring flower has 5-6 petals, while the forsythia has 4 petals, and the spring flower has a long, trumpet-shaped corolla tube, while the corolla of the forsythia flower is bell-shaped and the corolla tube is very short.

Opening hours vary
Although they all bloom in spring, there is a significant difference in opening hours.
Spring flowers generally bloom in early spring, in February and March, when most of the surrounding plants and trees are still in a state of germination, and forsythia blooms later, in March and April, basically the spring flowers are about to bloom, and forsythia begins to bloom.

The leaves are different
Spring flowers usually have three leaflets (three compound leaves), while the leaves of forsythia are oblong, opposite, single-leafed, or three-leafed.

In fact, there is a plant called "golden bellflower" in the green belt, which is also of the forsythia genus, which is particularly similar to forsythia.
The difference is that the calyx of the bell flower is much shorter than the corolla tube, and the small branches of the bell flower have flaky pith in the branches, while the forsythia branches are hollow inside.
The difference is most pronounced in the pith, but the shoots need to be dissected.
Compared with spring flowers, bellflowers and forsythia are considered a family.
