The world rankings were updated after Williams won the tour
On April 8, 2024, David Caulfield revealed that on Sunday, the outstanding Williams won the penultimate race of the season, which will count towards the rankings.
He dominated the second stage of Manchester's blockbuster showdown with old rival O'Sullivan.
The latter hit a three-shot break to build a 5-3 advantage at the end of the first period. But it helped Williams, who contributed two points of his own in a one-sided late game.
The 49-year-old British Open champion won seven straight games against the esteemed foe, his 26th career ranking title.
Before the final match at the Crucible Theater, let's see how it affects the world rankings.

As has often happened this season, O'Sullivan is in danger of giving up his position at the top of the official rankings.
But Trump's exit in the round of eight ensured that the Rockets would maintain the position he has held since April 2022.
With the £500,000 Rockets earned at the 2022 World Championships set to be deducted from his two-year rolling points, he will end the season in fifth place in the world for the time being.
Allen is currently expected to finish the season as world number one, but everything in that will depend on the outcome of the lucrative World Championships in Sheffield.
In the current official rankings, the Tinker is in third place, behind second-placed Pette and ahead of defending world champion Brecel in fourth.
Selby was fifth, with Williams receiving £150,000 for the Tour title and he was sixth.
Ding Junhui, Murphy, Carter and Gary Wilson made it into the top 10, with Gary Wilson reaching the semi-finals at Manchester City, the highest ranking of his career.
At the top of the list are Anda Zhang, Kyren Wilson and Higgins, who dropped three places to 13th and temporarily outside the top 16 in the world rankings at the end of the season.
Forde, Hawkins and Milkins rounded out the top 16.
With the 2022 Tour Champion's points deducted from his points total, Neil Robertson officially dropped out of the top 16 for the first time since 2017.
As of 10 April 2024, the official world rankings are as follows:

World Championship seeding
In this year's tour, the qualifying rounds for the World Championship are already well known because no one is outside the top 16. However, the specific qualifying order for the World Championships has not yet been determined.
Now, Rocket and Jr. represent the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively, behind defending champion Brecel.
This puts the two in the same half, meaning the most prolific winner of the season could meet early in the semi-finals. Williams, Ding Junhui and Gary Wilson and others made it into the bottom half. Meanwhile, Brecel hopes to become the first player in Crucible's history to successfully defend his first World Title. He's in the top half of the table with players like Allen, Selby, Higgins and Murphy. (Welcome to click to pay attention to moisturizing AB, please indicate the source for reprinting, thank you)
