Recently, the body of a young woman was found in an abandoned church in the Valle d'Aosta region in northwestern Italy.

According to the Italian "Corriere della Sera" and "Courier" newspapers, at about 14:30 on the 5th, the Valle d'Aosta police received a report from residents that a female corpse was found in an abandoned chapel in the town of La Salle.

The deceased was a deep-haired young woman, wearing a sweatshirt, leggings, and sneakers, possibly a foreigner. There was a bag of marshmallows next to the body, some paper and garbage in the distance, and no identity documents or cell phones at the scene.

The deceased had wounds on his abdomen and throat, and there were obvious drag marks and blood stains on the ground in front of the church. An autopsy revealed that the woman died of blood loss.

Witnesses said they had seen the deceased walking with a man a few days earlier. The two said they had come to town from Switzerland and asked a nearby supermarket to buy something and were going camping in the mountains.

Yesterday (9th), after identification by relatives, it was confirmed that the deceased was a 22-year-old French woman. The French police have now arrested a suspect. Further investigation is ongoing.
