From the application of high-strength materials such as 700MPa, 750MPa, and 980MPa, which are well-known in the industry, lightweight materials and technologies for special vehicles have been emerging in recent years. What is hot-rolled gipascal-grade thin-gauge high-strength steel, what are the benefits of this "new species" for lightweight applications in special vehicles, and what will it bring to the special purpose vehicle industry?
As the pioneer of domestic super-strong steel lightweight semi-trailers, Anhui Huaxing has been deeply engaged in the research and development of lightweight semi-trailers since its inception in 2016, especially in the field of rollover dump semi-trailers After 8 years of technical precipitation, it has successfully reduced the weight of rollover dumps from 7.2 tons to 4.98 tons, completed the iterative upgrading of seven generations of products, and formed more than 80 patented technologies.
Hui Guangyu, general manager of Anhui Huaxing, revealed that from the selection of aluminum alloy accessories to the development of relay valves, axles and other components tailored for lightweight rollover dumping, from the optimization of new tailgates and beam special-shaped holes to structural stress, from the bold use of aluminum alloy bottom plate to constantly refresh the new record of domestic rollover dump weight, Huaxing has made a lot of attempts in new materials, new technologies, new structures and new processes from the first generation to the seventh generation in recent years.
In particular, Huaxing's third-generation rollover dump semi-trailer introduced super-strong steel materials into the semi-trailer industry for the first time, overcoming the technical problems of super-strong steel welding and structural design, and also making it possible to apply higher yield and tensile strength materials.

The Jipa steel mentioned by Hui Guangyu refers to the ultra-high-strength steel with a tensile strength greater than 1000MPa, which is not only the technical commanding heights of the steel industry, but also the core of the lightweight technology upgrade in the special vehicle industry.
Compared with the mainstream high-strength steel in the industry, Jipa's steel is a "new species" with higher yield and tensile strength, which can effectively reduce the weight of the vehicle and further improve the benefits of loading and fuel consumption while ensuring the safety of the vehicle, so it has attracted attention from all parties.
Due to the large quality fluctuation and high difficulty of stable manufacturing in the production process of Jipa steel, and the high content of alloying elements and the sensitive quality of steel plate to the process, there are many unknowns and challenges for the application and effect of this new material.
Anhui Huaxing was the first to eat "crabs" in the semi-trailer industry, and jointly carried out research on hot-rolled gipascal-grade thin-gauge high-strength steel with Shougang Jingtang, and successively overcame structural and welding problems, and the product test was successful.
On March 29, 2024, the hot-rolled gipascal-grade thin-gauge high-strength steel research laboratory (hereinafter referred to as the joint R&D center) jointly established by Anhui Huaxing and Shougang Jingtang was unveiled in Anhui Huaxing, which not only means the further upgrade of the cooperative relationship between the two parties, but also marks the official entry of hot-rolled gipascal-grade thin-gauge high-strength steel into the stage of batch application in Huaxing.

It is reported that the joint R&D center jointly established by the two sides will be committed to the application of hot-rolled gipascal-grade thin-gauge high-strength steel in the field of semi-trailers, covering the key technologies of composition design, steelmaking, continuous casting, hot-rolling and customer application throughout the life cycle.
