On April 9, Beijing time, the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Asian University Group Match officially kicked off at Changsha Moon Island Clay Tennis Park. The Chinese team met the Chinese Taipei team in the first game, and the Chinese team led by the first sister Zheng Qinwen had a clear advantage, defeating the opponent 2-0 to lock in the victory and get off to a good start. The 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Asia Zone has a total of 6 teams from China, Chinese Taipei, India, South Korea, New Zealand, Pacific and Oceania regional joint teams, and the tournament will be held in Changsha from April 9 to 13 (clay), with a single round-robin format, and the top two will advance to the World Group play-offs.

Since this is the last Billie Jean Gold Cup before the Paris Olympics, Zheng Qinwen, Wang Xinyu, Wang Xiyu and others who want to participate in the Olympic Games must participate! In the Paris Olympic cycle (2020.8.10-2024.6.10), they must represent their Olympic Committee to participate in at least 2 Billie Jean Gold Cups, including at least once in 2023 or 2024 (the final stage and the regional stage are counted as one competition per year). Therefore, the Chinese team sent Zheng Qinwen, Wang Xinyu, Wang Xiyu, Zhu Lin, and Guo Hanyu to the top seeds of the tournament. In the first round, he faced the No. 4 seed Chinese Taipei. Chinese Taipei team lineup: Yang Yayi, Gu Lan, Liang Enshuo, Zhan Haoqing, etc.

The match is a best-of-three format, with two singles and one doubles. The first match was played by Chinese Golden Flower Wang Xinyu against Chinese Taipei Gülen. Judging from the ranking, Wang Xinyu ranks 43rd, and the opponent ranks 305th, which is not at the same level in terms of strength. But I didn't expect the game to be more stalemate. In this game, Wang Xinyu played not ideally, and she fell behind in the first set, almost losing 2-5. However, fortunately, she woke up in the cheers of the live audience and successfully counterattacked, winning the first set 7-5. In the second set, the two sides fought fiercely to tie seven, and Wang Xinyu won 7-4 in the tie-break, and finally won the second set 7-6. The whole game was full of ups and downs, but at least the result was good. Wang Xinyu continued to work hard! The Chinese team got off to a good start with a score of 1-0.

In the second match, the Chinese team sent Zheng Qinwen, the runner-up of the Australian Open and the first sister of China, to play against Chinese Taipei's Yang Yayi. Zheng is ranked 7th in the world, while his opponent is only 215. In this game, Zheng Qinwen fully showed the demeanor of the first sister of China, did not give the opponent any chance, and brutally swept the opponent 6-0, 6-1. The Chinese team led 2-0.

The third match was a doubles match between Guo Hanyu/Zhu Lin and Chinese Taipei Zhan Haoqing/Liang Enshuo. If nothing else, Guo Hanyu/Zhu Lin will win easily.

The Billie Jean King Cup Asian University Group 1 competition was held in Changsha, and the Chinese team was able to make full use of the clay court in Changsha to do a good job in training before the Paris Olympics. Looking forward to the excellent performance of the golden flowers.
