On April 9, Southwest Medical University, Sichuan Provincial Health Commission and Meishan Management Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University (Tianfu Hospital Affiliated to Southwest Medical University) (hereinafter referred to as Tianfu Hospital Affiliated to Southwest Medical University).

The tripartite construction of Tianfu Hospital affiliated to Southwest Medical University is a strategic choice for win-win cooperation between provinces and schools, and Meishan will accelerate the construction of the project and wholeheartedly provide various service guarantees for the operation and development of the hospital.

Liao Bin pointed out that Tianfu Hospital affiliated to Southwest Medical University is a unit directly under the Sichuan Provincial Health Commission and a hospital directly affiliated to the university. In the future, we will build a multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment system based on the integration of "systemic diseases", give full play to the leading role of Southwest Medical University's advantageous disciplines, and build characteristic medical clusters such as health management, minimally invasive interventional medicine, difficult and critical care, nuclear medicine, and stomatology. Southwest Medical University and its affiliated hospitals will go all out to support the development of Tianfu Hospital affiliated to Southwest Medical University, accelerate the construction of a tertiary first-class comprehensive teaching hospital integrating medical education, research, management and service, build a regional medical center trusted by the people, and contribute to the construction of Meishan into a medical center in the southern metropolitan area.

Xu Bin pointed out that Meishan attaches great importance to the construction of Tianfu Hospital affiliated to Southwest Medical University, and the project is progressing steadily. At present, the first phase of the hospital project has been basically completed, and strives to open as scheduled in October this year. It is believed that the joint construction of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University (Tianfu Hospital Affiliated to Southwest Medical University) by the three parties will further promote the overall improvement of regional medical service capacity and help the high-quality development of health in the province. It is hoped that the three parties will plan from a high starting point in the future to build a "new benchmark" for win-win cooperation, build a "new highland" for medical services with high standards, and promote high efficiency to achieve a "new leap" in regional development.

Tianfu Hospital Affiliated to Southwest Medical University is one of the key livelihood projects in Sichuan Province, located in Shigao Street, Tianfu New District, Meishan, at the intersection of the fast track around Tianfu New Area and the southern extension of Yizhou Avenue, and is designed in accordance with the standards of a third-class comprehensive teaching hospital.
The project covers an area of 312 acres, with a total investment of about 5 billion yuan, and will be constructed in two phases. The first phase covers an area of about 208 acres, with a total construction area of about 155,000 square meters, and the main construction content includes outpatient and emergency medical technology inpatient building, physical examination and health center, administrative office complex, infectious disease building, medical equipment room and other buildings and related ancillary facilities, which is expected to be put into use in October this year. The second phase of the project covers an area of about 104 acres, with a construction area of about 155,000 square meters, and plans to start construction this year, mainly including inpatient buildings, nuclear medicine centers, health management centers, teaching rooms and scientific research buildings, etc., after completion, the total number of beds will reach 1,250, and at the same time meet the needs of 1,380 people for regular training, undergraduate and graduate clinical teaching and 4 scientific research teams.
