In order to effectively improve the popularization of citizens' knowledge and skills in emergency care, at the beginning of the year, Shanghai included "training 80,000 licensed emergency ambulances" as a practical project for the private sector in 2024. Recently, the Red Cross Emergency Ambulance Training Demonstration Base of the Red Cross Society of China, the Red Cross First Aid Training Base of Huangpu District, and the Huangpu District Health School (hereinafter referred to as "Huangpu Health School") have launched the training of primary ambulance personnel.
The training courses for emergency responders in this practical project include Introduction to Red Cross Movement and Ambulance, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Automated External Defibrillator, Airway Foreign Body Obstruction Management, Trauma Rescue, etc. The training duration is 8 hours, divided into 4 hours of online theoretical training and 4 hours of offline practical training. Citizens can register through the "Shanghai First Aid" WeChat mini-program, and after completing the online course, they can sign up for offline operation learning, and after passing the assessment, they can obtain the Red Cross Ambulance (Primary) electronic certificate, which is valid for three years.

In the on-site training of Huangpu Health School, the instructors not only comprehensively explained the operation steps of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, precautions for the use of automatic external defibrillator (AED), hemostasis and bandaging, and other emergency rescue knowledge, and played the latest first-aid courseware for everyone, so that everyone can understand the correct on-site first aid steps. "When I first started learning theoretical knowledge, I felt that I had memorized all these knowledge, and after practical operation, I found that many details would be missed by myself." Miss Zhang, who participated in the training, told reporters, "For example, the standard of high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation is 100-120 times per minute, and the compression depth of adults is 5-6 cm, which seems simple. ”
In March, the ambulance trainers of the Huangpu Health School completed the special training conducted by the Shanghai Red Cross Society and took up their posts with certificates to provide more standardized teaching for the public. The person in charge of the relevant departments of Huangpu Health School introduced. "Through our training, the staff of the Gao Laojiu East Nanjing Road Store (flagship store) used the Heimlich maneuver to successfully help a customer who had difficulty breathing due to food stuck in his throat to expel a foreign body and resume breathing, avoiding more serious consequences. This also reflects the importance of popularizing the knowledge and skills of emergency care for the whole people and improving the ability to deal with emergencies. ”
It is understood that in 2023, Huangpu Health School will complete a total of 95 trainings of various kinds, with a total of 3,656 trainees. In the future, the school will also strictly follow the training requirements of "training 80,000 certified emergency ambulances" of the Red Cross Society of China of "unified syllabus, unified technical standards, unified assessment standards, and unified certification management", promote the continuous improvement of emergency rescue capabilities of key populations, form an effective self-help and mutual rescue force at the social level, and further promote and practice the first aid concept of "caring for life and saving around".
