On 7 April (last Sunday), Hong Kong's Sha Tin Racecourse staged 10 exciting speed races, including two Category 2 races: the Sprint Stakes (Race 7, 1200m) and the Chairman's Stakes (Race 8, 1600m), with a total prize fund of HK$5.35 million.
In the seventh sprint race of the day, the 1200m sprint race featured 11 horses. After fierce competition, Lucky Sweynesse, the world's king sprint horse, was masterfully controlled by jockey Bouvin to sweep away the gloom of the previous two consecutive defeats and successfully defend the sprint stakes (Group 2) with a superb performance of 1:09.17.
The horses that competed with him include: "Invincible Sage", "Mighty Galloping", "Love", "Package Wins", "Champion and First", "Master of Tension", "Wei Xiaobao", "Lucky with You", "Friend's Experience", "Fly with the Trend" and many other strong opponents. Invincible Sage was second in 1:09.28, followed by Flying Ace.
It is worth mentioning that Golden Diamond was named Hong Kong's Best Sprint Horse in the 2022-2023 season, winning 16 first prizes in 24 races in his career, including four Group 1 races, and a total prize fund of HK$74.27 million. Previously, after winning the HK$26 million Longines Hong Kong Sprint Stakes (1200m) on December 10, 2023, the "Golden Diamond Noble" had some ups and downs. On 28 January, he finished sixth in the Category 1 Centennial Sprint Cup (1200m) and on 10 March in the Group 1 Queen's Jubilee Cup (1400m), finishing fifth. But this victory in the sprint championship undoubtedly proved his outstanding strength once again and eliminated the voices of doubt from the outside world.
