Recently, Chen Weiqing, Chinese ambassador to Saudi Arabia and representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, attended a farewell ceremony held by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of his departure, and called on the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf Al-Budawi and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Taha.
Chen Weiqing recalled the development of China's relations with Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and Arab countries and the OIC during his tenure, thanked the Saudi government and all walks of life, the GCC and the OIC Secretariat for their strong support for him and the work of the embassy, and said that in recent years, the China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership has continued to deepen, and the relations between China and Saudi Arabia, China-Arab countries and China-Iran have developed by leaps and bounds. In December 2022, President Xi Jinping attended the "Three Rings Summit", leading China-Arab countries, China-GCC and China-Saudi Arabia relations into a new era of comprehensive and deepening development. China looks forward to continuing to work with all parties to achieve more fruitful cooperation in various fields between China and Saudi Arabia, China and the Gulf, China and Arab countries, and China and Iran.
All sides thanked Chen Weiqing for his work during his tenure of office and spoke highly of the fruitful results of cooperation with China in various fields. The Saudi side said that Saudi Arabia-China relations are currently in the best period in history, and hopes to work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and push Saudi Arabia-China relations to a new level. The Haihai side expressed its hope to further strengthen the China-GCC strategic partnership and jointly promote regional peace and development. The Iranian side expressed its gratitude to China for its contribution to supporting the development of Islamic countries and looked forward to further expanding cooperation with China.
Chen Weiqing also resigned his resignation to members of the Saudi royal family, cabinet members, other dignitaries, and friendly personages, other officials of the GCC secretariat, officials of the OIC secretariat and other relevant agencies, and envoys and permanent representatives of some countries to the OIC.
