According to Ukrainian military sources, in order to ensure the safety of the Donbass Canal defense line and the Chasov Yar fortress, the center of the defense line, will not be broken through by the Russian army, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky, has ordered the transfer of troops from the southern Zaporozhye battlefield to reinforce Chasov Yar. Compared to the western part of Bakhmut and the Kharkiv direction, the current offensive of the Russian army in Zaporozhye is not strong. This gave the Ukrainian military the opportunity to tear down the east wall and make up the west wall. But for the Ukrainian army, the entire eastern battlefield is a "meat grinder" everywhere.
The tactics of the Russian army look simple, but they are effective, even efficient. After setting the target area for attack, the Russian Air Force will play the front, first give the Ukrainian position a round of 500 kg precision-guided aerial bombs, and then use reconnaissance drones to test the bombing effect, and finally send armored infantry to control the positions of the Ukrainian army. A battlefield video just released by the Russian army shows that a large ammunition depot of the Ukrainian army, more than 20 kilometers away from the Chasov Yar front, was hit by a Russian Iskander missile, and the explosion caused a large number of shells in the ammunition depot to detonate, and dozens of Ukrainian soldiers guarding the ammunition depot were blown to death. According to Ukrainian military data, the ammunition depot is stored daily with about 25,000 shells. This is a catastrophic loss for Ukrainian front-line artillery. Due to the lack of foreign aid weapons and ammunition, the Ukrainian army on the Chasov Yar front is in a dangerous predicament of having artillery but no ammunition.
