Presentation of the conference
The World Transport Convention (WTC) is an international academic conference and exhibition platform in the field of transportation jointly supported by domestic and foreign transportation science and technology organizations. Since its inception in 2017, WTC has had a great impact on the transportation industry at home and abroad.
The 2024 World Transport Congress (WTC2024) is co-sponsored by six units: China Highway and Transportation Society, China Institute of Navigation, China Railway Society, China Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Society of Automotive Engineers of China, and China Air Transport Association.
With the theme of "New Transportation in Change", the conference covered academic exchanges, technical seminars, international cooperation, science and technology competitions, think tank reports and scientific and technological achievements release. The conference is planned to be held from June 26 to 29 in China Railway Qingdao World Expo City, and the 2024 Transportation Science and Technology Expo will be held at the same time.
Schedule of main activities
The 2024 World Transport Congress consists of the opening ceremony and keynote speech, parallel forums, scientific and technological achievements releases and special activities.
Opening Ceremony & Keynote Speech
On the afternoon of June 26, the opening ceremony of the conference was held, and the leaders of relevant units and heads of international organizations were invited to deliver speeches, and then a keynote report meeting was held, and well-known experts at home and abroad were invited to make reports on the frontier and strategic development of transportation science and technology innovation.
Parallel forums
The parallel forums are divided into thematic forums, thematic forums, poster interactive forums, special interest meetings and technical committee meetings according to the mode of communication and the theme of communication. About 277 parallel forums are planned to be held at the conference.
(1) Theme Forum: Focusing on the current major forward-looking and key technical issues of transportation, covering highway engineering, bridge engineering, tunnel engineering, traffic engineering, transportation planning, water transportation, rail transit, air transportation, automotive engineering, interdisciplinary and other fields, reflecting the latest scientific and technological achievements and level of world transportation, and inviting famous scientists, academicians and well-known scholars at home and abroad to make academic reports. The names of some of the thematic forums are as follows, and the final forum names and lists are subject to the official notice.
(2) Thematic Forum: Focusing on the research progress of various disciplines with the Faculty as a unit.
(3) Poster interactive forum: Focusing on the exchange of papers accepted by the conference, a special venue will be opened for the exchange of paper reports, and the authors of the papers and representatives will be encouraged to interact and discuss. The conference will publish the "2024 World Transport Congress Proceedings" and produce an electronic version of the "2024 World Transport Congress Abstract Collection".
(4) Special Interest Meeting: Delegates will conduct face-to-face exchanges and discussions on hot issues in the transportation industry, build consensus through the collision of views, and stimulate enthusiasm for innovation.
(5) Technical Committee Meeting: Initiated by the Technical Committee of the Division, to create an interactive communication platform between members.
Release of scientific and technological achievements
A number of influential think tank reports will be released during the conference. At the same time, various forms of release activities will be held, such as the first release of scientific and technological innovation achievements, the release of standards, the signing of strategic cooperation, and the promotion meeting.
Featured Events
In order to enhance the effectiveness of the conference and strengthen the interaction and exchange of participants and representatives, various special activities such as theme salons and cooperation negotiations will be held during the conference. At the same time, the "2024 World University Bridge Design Competition On-site Finals" and "2023 China Highway and Transportation Society Science and Technology Award Presentation Conference" will be held.
