At 16:46 on April 7, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in Baicheng County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with an epicenter depth of 17 kilometers, and the epicenter was located in Tagaketul Village, Tuoxun Township, Baicheng County, about 20 kilometers away from Tuoxun Township, about 30 kilometers away from Baicheng County, and about 150 kilometers away from the urban area of Aksu City. No casualties have been reported so far.

The police rushed to the scene as soon as possible to carry out a search, and found the elderly man waiting for help in the house, and the police immediately picked up the old man and moved him to a safe place. At 15:50, the search and rescue team found the trapped three tourists at the bottom of the Grand Canyon Scenic Area. After confirming that the tourists were in good health, rescuers helped them move to the Grand Canyon Hydropower Station. At 16:30, the three rescued tourists were safely transferred to the tourist service center of the scenic spot, and after being examined by medical personnel, except for an adult male tourist with minor abrasions, the remaining two were in good physical condition.
