The Type 055 destroyer is indeed a very powerful combat ship, and its combat capabilities in various dimensions such as perception, air defense, anti-ship, and informatization are second to none in the world, and it is not only stronger than the "Aegis" ship of the United States, but also has a better ability to fight a decisive battle with the fleet than DDG1000. There's nothing wrong with that.
But even so, in the face of the "new combat force of the Air Force", 055 still suffered. Of course, according to official custom, we don't know what the specific hardships are, and we don't know what kind of new combat forces they are. It is more likely that the J-20 will participate in the full training assessment of 055, which is a very difficult target for the vast majority of surface ships. Although the J-20 generally does not participate in anti-ship operations, it can be said that the J-20 can simulate the F-35C, and the F-35C launches anti-ship missiles such as AGM-158C under the command of the US carrier-based early warning aircraft, and the threat is still huge.
So we can also think that although the performance of the 055 is very powerful, as a surface ship, it is impossible for the Type 055 to change the disadvantages of surface ships relative to aviation under the same technical conditions, but the defense capability is indeed stronger. There was a very unrigorous and unobjective statement on the Internet that "055 drove the US aircraft carrier strike group alone", and 055 just went out to use a stronger perception capability to locate the US aircraft carrier strike group, which shows that our fleet's perception capability still has certain defects.
No fleet commander would let 055 really go to the aircraft carrier strike group alone, and what the "Yamato" couldn't do back then, don't put it on 055 to do it.
The real role of 055 is the platform for long-range strikes, the information node of the fleet, and the backbone of defensive firepower, but to confront the US Navy, it still needs to be supported by a complete fleet system. This requires advanced aircraft carriers, advanced carrier-based aircraft, and a series of related systems. The solution is that the Fujian ship can carry a large fleet aircraft carrier such as the Air Police-600, J-35 and various types of UAVs, and such a fleet can cooperate with the medium-range missile system of the Rocket Force to truly gain the advantage of a decisive battle in the fleet.
Don't think too simplistic about a possible military confrontation, it's a dangerous sentiment.
