Netflix is selling headsets from its hit TV series The Three-Body Problem, which features characters accessing shared virtual reality. The headset is just a prop from the show, though, but in terms of non-functional collectibles, it's actually pretty cool.
Netflix sells the headset model for $110, which features a silver-chrome finish made of polycarbonate that allows users to see the world around them as if they were wearing a pair of high-polish sunglasses.
Unlike the cool chrome metal model used in the show, the headset model has padding at the ears and has a rigid headband that "fits most people's head sizes", and even includes a panel like a real VR headset for more comfortable wearing.
Interestingly, Hideo Kojima shared the effects of the headset he was wearing at X. As you can see, the Japanese game producer, who brought famous titles such as Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, really seems to be using this special VR headset. But its version appears to be slightly different from the one sold through stores, and also different from being given away as a promotional freebie at this year's SXSW, Hideo Kojima's kit appears to include custom lens inserts.
The device is currently sold out, and interested consumers can email an account to get sales information.
