There was a moment in our lives when we made a pivotal decision to change the future – buying a house. Two years ago, it was at such a moment that I ended my long-term rental career and had my own little world. Looking back now, despite the discussion and worries caused by the fluctuation of housing prices, I am still steadfast in my choice.
I remember that day in 2022, I signed the contract to buy a house, and I had both anticipation and a little apprehension in my heart. And at the end of 2023, when I open the door of my new home, that anticipation has turned into a full sense of happiness. Although the market has changed and house prices have fallen, for me, this house is much more than a numerical profit and loss.
Home is a warm harbor and a destination for the soul. It has seen me go from the precariousness of renting to having a space that is truly my own. Here, I can freely decorate every corner, plan for the future with peace of mind, and share the joy of life with my family. All this is beyond the measure of money.
Of course, I've also seen posts about people who feel anxious about falling house prices, some of whom may have lost hundreds of thousands or even millions. This is indeed a lot of money, but in my opinion, the value of life should not be quantified merely as the increase or decrease of money. My mindset is still positive, and I believe that the market will always have its ups and downs over time, and our home is an eternal haven.
So, to the question – "Do you regret buying a house?" my answer is a firm "no". Because I know that no matter how the market changes, what I get is not only a house, but also a stability and the warmth of home. This inner peace and satisfaction cannot be taken away by any housing price fluctuations.
