Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. is recalling some of Nissan's new Qashqai, X-Trail and Infiniti Q50L and QX50 vehicles

Recently, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. As of April 4, 2024, the following vehicles are being recalled.

  1. Recall some of the Dongfeng Nissan brand new Qashqai and X-Trail automobiles, a total of 25,715 vehicles. The details are as follows: 24,722 units of some of the new 2021 model year Qashqai cars produced between October 20, 2021 and December 1, 2021, and 993 units of some 2021 model year X-Trail vehicles produced between October 27, 2021 and December 23, 2021.

Due to manufacturing reasons, some vehicles within the scope of this recall have the welding position of the right front triangle arm offset, resulting in insufficient strength. In extreme cases, the welding part of the right front triangle arm may crack due to the impact of external force, causing the vehicle to deviate suddenly, and there are potential safety hazards.

Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. will check the production batch number of the right front triangle arm for the vehicles within the scope of the recall, and replace the right front triangle arm belonging to the risk batch free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.

This recall is an expanded recall of the recall campaign "Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. Recalls Some Dongfeng Nissan New Qashqai Vehicles" announced on April 22, 2022.

  2. Recall some Infiniti brand Q50L and QX50 vehicles, a total of 60,851 vehicles. Specifically, 40,730 Q50L vehicles of the 2016-2018 model year were manufactured between November 1, 2016 and October 31, 2018, 8,392 units of the 2016-2017 model year QX50 manufactured between November 1, 2016 and October 28, 2017, and 11,729 QX50 vehicles of the 2018 model year produced between May 1, 2018 and November 30, 2018。

Some vehicles covered by this recall may have been damaged due to manufacturing reasons, resulting in a failure of the Passenger Classification System (OCS), causing the OCS status light and instrument airbag indicator to light up and turn off the passenger airbag deployment function. In the event of a collision, the failure of the passenger airbag to deploy normally will increase the risk of injury to the passenger and pose a safety hazard.

Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. will replace the improved OCS sensor for the vehicles covered by the recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.

Emergency measures: If the user finds that the OCS status light and the instrument airbag indicator light are lit at the same time, it means that the OCS has failed, please avoid continuing to sit in the passenger seat, and contact the authorized Infiniti dealer in time to deal with it.

Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. will take the initiative to notify relevant car owners by registered mail, telephone, text message, etc., through Dongfeng Nissan franchise stores and Dongfeng Infiniti franchise stores, and arrange free maintenance. Users can call the customer service hotline: 95027 (Dongfeng Nissan), 400-890-9090 (Dongfeng Infiniti) for consultation.
