Recently, bird photography enthusiasts in Baokang County photographed the bao-green-winged short-legged bulbul for the first time in the county.

The green-winged bulbul is a bird of the family Bulbulidae, the genus Bulbul. Medium-sized birds, 20-26 cm in length. The back is gray, the neck and chest are earthy yellow, the lower abdomen is pale yellow, and the head feathers can stand upright. The wings and tail are yellow-green. Male and female are the same color and are more difficult to distinguish. It often inhabits various habitats such as mountain broad-leaved forests, coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests, secondary forests, sparse forests at the forest edge, bamboo forests, sparse shrubs and shrub grasslands at an altitude of 1000 to 3000 meters. The green-winged bulbul has been listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species for 2023.
