Recently, FAW Hongqi officially released the official picture of the 2024 Hongqi H9 model, as a mid-term facelift version, the appearance of the new car basically continues the solemn design ideas, only in the details of the adjustment, and is expected to add 2.5T V6 models. The exterior of the new car has not changed much, mainly with a new split light cluster, with more sophisticated LED light sources added to the upper daytime running lights, and high and low beams hidden in the fog lamp area below, in a double-layer layout with chrome trim accents. The boxy grille has also been tweaked, with raindrop-shaped trim interspersed with the classic waterfall-style chrome grille, similar to that of the Hongqi HS5. Under the grille and on both sides, LED light strips are not forgotten to be inserted, with the new Hongqi logo, contrasting body and other details, it looks more recognizable.
The side of the body is basically unchanged, and the roof is a slightly slippery transition line, with a rounded and smooth waistline, outlining a slender and atmospheric attitude. Details such as the iconic L-shaped side skirts and large close-spoke wheels have also been left behind, enhancing the recognizability and adding a touch of style. In addition, the new car has added the popular hidden door handles, which is also in line with the mainstream aesthetic. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5137/1904/1498mm, and the wheelbase is 3060mm.
At the rear, the upturned end of the bootbox is not noticeable, echoing the high-mounted brake lights on the upper edge of the rear windshield. The rear light clusters are integrated into the additional longitudinal light clusters on either side, interspersed with a continuous chrome strip. A new diffuser decoration has been added to the rear bumper, and the flat exhaust holes have been partitioned, visually resembling a double-sided quad exhaust, giving it a more youthful and dynamic look.
Combined with the previously exposed interior spy photos, the new car adopts a new interior layout, equipped with dual large-size floating screens, and the LCD instrument is slightly moved forward, forming a staggered layout. It is suspected that a row of control buttons has been added under the central control screen, and the island area is still in a trial state, and there may be a more concise design.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new car will be available with three engine options, including a 1.8T engine with a maximum power of 165kW, a 2.5T V6 engine with a maximum power of 223kW, and a 3.0T engine with a maximum power of 248kW, an increase of 40kW compared with the current model. In addition, Hongqi also declared a 2.0T model in the change application of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and in general, the power options are quite rich.
According to the plan, the car may be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, which will open on April 25, and is expected to be completed in the first half of the year. For reference, the current Hongqi H9 price range is 309,800-860,000 yuan, and the new H9 has a new 1.8T version, perhaps the price will be further reduced, and the future performance is worth looking forward to.
