The chairman of the board of directors of Fat Donglai Company said in a recent speech at the president class of Lianshang Donglai that in order to expand the vision of employees, it is planned to implement an overseas travel plan for all employees this year.

Senior management will visit Europe, while other staff will travel to Japan and then arrange a visit to Singapore. The aim is to push employees to think beyond the constraints of their own environment, to see the world from a broad perspective and to reflect on the trajectory of their personal lives.

Chairman Yu Donglai emphasized the management's support and funding for the all-staff trip, aiming to encourage employees to go beyond the conventional life experience and look at themselves and the world from a global perspective.

This measure echoes the company's earlier announcement of an additional 10-day "unhappy leave", which demonstrates the importance that the company attaches to promoting the psychological well-being of employees.

At the China Supermarket Week Forum held in 2024, Yu Donglai proposed that Fat Donglai would introduce a special 10-day holiday to support employees in pursuing their personal preferences.

In addition, he made it clear that the management team must approve the leave or it would be a violation of the regulations, which reflects the principle of autonomy advocated by the company.

Yu Donglai elaborated on the normalcy of emotions and their effects: "It is a natural human emotional response for people to experience unpleasant moments. However, when companies offer 'mood leave', employees tend to be satisfied, as the policy shows that the company is concerned and supportive of their emotional state, and emphasises the importance of a balance between work and private life. ”
