The clear water circulation, the canal bank is evergreen, strolling through the water beauty community, every step is into the painting. Recently, with the opening of Dongshang Aotang and Zhangjiatang Port in Kangjian Street, Xuhui District, the surrounding residents have a new place to go after dinner. The renovation of these two rivers not only improves the happiness index of residents' lives, but also makes residents look at the once "stinky river" with admiration.

Zhangjiatang Port
It is about 1.7 kilometers long and 20 meters wide in the north, with a north-south direction to Zhangjiatang Port in the south and Caohejing Port in the north. The Zhangjiatang Port, which is connected to it, runs east-west with a total length of 9.4 kilometers, and the section of Xuhui District is about 5.2 kilometers long. In the past, these two rivers had problems such as spatial breakpoints and blockages of trails, lack of lighting, and low quality of embankments. However, after the transformation, the river has now been completely renewed.
Residents said that the river was dirty and messy, smelled bad, and it was even more frightening to walk at night. Nowadays, the connection and transformation of the Aotang River in the east has opened up a shortcut for residents to go to Hongcao South Road to take a car, and most of the distance can be saved to go to community hospitals and other places, so that residents feel unprecedented convenience and comfort.
In addition to the convenience of travel, the landscape greenery on both sides of the river has also been carefully planned, and the four seasons change beautifully. Along the river from Kangjian Park, the colorful asphalt trail is spacious and flat, passing through Shanghai Normal University, Guidong Vegetable Market, World Foreign Chinese Primary School (East), Pubei Party and Mass Service Center of Kangjian Street and Kangwu Vegetable Market and other characteristic spaces.
It is reported that the river renovation also incorporates rich cultural elements. The river culture represented by "Guizi Lane" organically combines education, academics, cultural atmosphere with recreation and health culture, and provides a window for citizens to understand the history and culture of Xuhui. While enjoying the beautiful scenery, the citizens can also feel the strong cultural atmosphere.
Nowadays, walking along the river with clear water and green banks, there are landscape facilities such as gentle slopes, green embankments, lawns, leisure trails and water platforms. The breeze blows and the water sparkles, adding a lot of romance to the daily life of the surrounding residents.
In Xuhui District, Shuimei communities like Dongshang Aotang and Zhangjiatang Port are not unique. The renovation and upgrading of rivers such as Puhuitang and Beichaogang have also brought "water life" to the surrounding residents.
