Recently, the list of the top ten micro-films, top ten moving figures, top ten organizations, top ten outstanding projects, and top ten outstanding communities of women's volunteer service collection and exchange and display activities in Jiangsu Province was announced, and Nie Xiaofeng in our district was selected as the "Top Ten Touching Figures of Women's Volunteer Service" and "Scholarly Women's Love to Spread Ten Thousand Families - Story Mother Leads Reader Cultivation" project was awarded the "Top Ten Outstanding Projects of Women's Volunteer Service".
Nie Xiaofeng contributed "her" strength to the revitalization of her hometown
As a native of Zhaojiabian Village, Hebei Community, Hushu Street, Nie Xiaofeng, who has been rooted in the podium for more than 30 years, gave full play to his own advantages, vacated his house for the community to establish a villager activity position for free, assisted the community to establish a rural doll science and technology museum, carried out family education guidance services, and contributed to the revitalization of his hometown.
With a large number of young people in Hebei communities moving to the city to work, grandparents have become the main force in the family education of a large number of "left-behind children". With the support of community leaders, Nie Xiaofeng, who has rich experience in family education and psychological counseling, assists the community in establishing parent schools and spiritual stations, regularly carries out family education lectures, parent-child activities and psychological counseling during holidays, guides rural parents to establish a healthy and harmonious family education model, and often uses the "mobile parent school" model to open evening classes, send family education services to the village square, so that parents can participate in family education guidance services when they walk and relax at home.
In response to some difficult and single-parent families, Nie Xiaofeng will go to the door with the cadres of the community women's federation to do special academic help and psychological counseling, and help children grow up healthily through sand table games, book sharing, public welfare activities, etc.
Today, the parent school founded by Nie Xiaofeng has also opened in Hushu, Xinnong, Xu Mu, Qianjia and other communities, holding more than 60 family education lectures and more than 50 parent-child and psychological counseling activities.
With the support of his family, Nie Xiaofeng's family also took the initiative to vacate three rooms and provide free space for the community to establish a micro-home for party members, a micro-home for women, and a rural bookstore. Every weekend and holiday, the house is full of books, laughter, and there is an endless stream of villagers who come here to read books and newspapers, and share stories. Nie Xiaofeng saw it in his eyes and was happy in his heart.
"Scholarly Women, Love Spread to Ten Thousand Families" Story Mother Leads Readers Project
"Scholarly Women, Love for Ten Thousand Families" - Story Mother Reader Project is sponsored by the District Women's Federation, co-organized by the Women's Federation of relevant streets, and undertaken by Nanjing Jiangning Love Tour Family Service Center. In 2020, it started the trial in Hengxi Street, and has now covered Dongshan, Qilin, Tangshan and Moling streets. Through the selection and training of outstanding bookish women's story mothers, the project carries out regular parent-child reading clubs for children aged 3-10 in various local women's micro-homes or community reading points, and builds a normalized, community-based and autonomous volunteer service team of bookish women story mothers through practice.
In the later stage of the project, the volunteers gradually expanded from community parent-child story meetings to reading guidance activities, regular borrowing services, and helped the development of family education in the community, so as to achieve the coverage of "community-wide" parent-child story meetings in each street. The project breaks the previous model of "participation" and "experience" of community residents in public welfare projects, fully mobilizes the spontaneity of community residents, gives full play to their initiative, and replaces the activity mode of "you talk and I listen" with "after empowerment - I will speak", so as to stimulate the motivation of mothers for self-growth and continuous learning. At the same time, with the reading of books as a link, we will establish a community women's volunteer resource pool and support more community public welfare activities.
Up to now, the project has carried out a total of 25 sessions of cultivating readers with scholarly women, and carried out more than 300 online and offline community parent-child story meetings, serving about 10,000 parent-child families in the community.
With the development and influence of the project, the project has successively introduced the cooperation and support of the China Women's Children's Fund and the Tzu Chi Charity Foundation, linked various community resources, built a total of 16 community small libraries, and helped more than 20 community small reading spots, greatly promoting the development of family education and reading promotion in the community, and promoting the development of learning communities.
It is understood that in order to give full play to the leading role of advanced models of women's volunteering and promote the institutionalization and brand development of women's volunteer service, the Provincial Women's Federation has carried out the Jiangsu New Era Women's Volunteer Service Micro Film Exhibition and Women's Volunteer Service Collection and Display Activities, and selected a number of typical individuals, collectives and projects. Nie Xiaofeng and the project of "Scholarly Women, Love to Spread Ten Thousand Families - Story Mother Leads Reader Cultivation" are the only "Top Ten Touching Figures" and "Top Ten Excellent Projects" in the city.
