On July 26, 2015, the location of the Chinese Embassy in Somalia was hit by a terrorist attack, and Zhang Nan, the sergeant squad leader of the Linyi detachment of the Shandong Armed Police Corps, who was responsible for the security mission, fell in a pool of blood, and his young life was forever frozen in a foreign country. Zhang Nan dedicated his 28-year-old youth to the diplomatic cause of the motherland, and built an immortal monument of loyal guards with his life and blood.

All walks of life will come to the detachment every year to pay tribute to the martyrs and commemorate the martyrs, and the resident school uses Zhang Nan's deeds as a fresh teaching material to educate and guide students to grow and become talents.
On the Qingming Festival and the Martyrs' Memorial Day every year, the detachment will organize officers and soldiers to express their feelings of remembrance in the form of "cloud memorial", dial the video call of Zhang Nan's parents, and organize to watch the battle images of Zhang Nan before his death.
In addition, the detachment also vigorously carried out the activity of "learning from Zhang Nan and being a good soldier", and everyone took Zhang Nan as a spiritual example and a benchmark for action. The first story told by the recruits is the story of Zhang Nan, and the first song they sing is "Good Soldier Zhang Nan".
