Case 1: Yang Mouyi fire case in Zhijin County, Bijie City
On the morning of February 18, 2024, the criminal suspect Yang Mouyi carried out a sacrificial activity in Dengguang Village, Niuchang Town, Zhijin County, and caused a fire due to the burning of paper money. According to the on-site investigation and calculation, the fire area was 6.8595 hectares (102.89 acres). On March 6, 2024, criminal suspect Yang Mouyi was arrested by the public security organs in accordance with the law. Further investigation is ongoing.
Case 2: Wang Mouyi fire case in Shuicheng District, Liupanshui City
On the morning of February 18, 2024, the criminal suspect Wang Mouyi carried firewood on the hood mountain in Wuwang Village, Huajia Township, Shuicheng District. During this period, when Wang Mouyi was smoking dry cigarettes, a fire was caused by cigarette butts falling into the mountains and forests. According to the on-site investigation and calculation, the fire area was 216.445 hectares (3246.68 acres). On March 29, 2024, criminal suspect Wang Mouyi was criminally detained by the public security organs in accordance with the law. Further investigation is ongoing.
Case 3: Yang Mouxing fire case in Xixiu District, Anshun City
On the afternoon of February 21, 2024, the suspect Yang Mouxing was conducting agricultural activities in Tunzhai Village, Yangwu Township, Xixiu District, and caused a fire due to burning straw. According to the on-site inspection and calculation, the fire area is 3.98 hectares (59.7 acres). On March 29, 2024, criminal suspect Yang Mouxing was criminally detained by the public security organs in accordance with the law. Further investigation is ongoing.
Case 4: Case of fire in Wei's car in Zhenfeng County, Qianxinan Prefecture
On the morning of March 4, 2024, the suspect Wei Mouche carried out a sacrificial activity in Lianlian Village, Lianhuan Township, Zhenfeng County, and caused a fire due to burning paper money. According to the on-site investigation and calculation, the fire area was 42.01 hectares (630.2 acres). On March 25, 2024, the criminal suspect Wei Mouche was arrested by the public security organs in accordance with the law. Further investigation is ongoing.
Case 5: Yang fire case in Luodian County, Qiannan Prefecture
On the afternoon of March 6, 2024, the suspect Yang was carrying out agricultural activities in Honghe Village, Hongshuihe Town, Luodian County, and caused a fire due to the burning of weeds. According to the on-site investigation and calculation, the fire area was 23.75 hectares (356.2 acres). On March 25, 2024, criminal suspect Yang was arrested by the public security organs in accordance with the law. Further investigation is ongoing.
Case 6: Xia Mouqiang fire case in Suiyang County, Zunyi City
On the afternoon of March 24, 2024, criminal suspect Xia Mouqiang carried out a sacrificial activity in Yinbao Village, Fenghua Town, Suiyang County, and caused a fire by lighting candles. According to the on-site investigation and calculation, the fire area was 23.52 hectares (352.87 acres). On March 25, 2024, criminal suspect Xia Mouqiang was criminally detained by the public security organs in accordance with the law. Further investigation is ongoing.
