Seventy-five years ago today, on April 4, 1949, a monster called the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was born in the haze of the Cold War.
The Cold War, it may sound "cold", but it is not. In the aftermath of World War II, 153 countries around the world were embroiled in more than 250 conflicts, which resulted in far more deaths than World War II. About 80 percent of these conflicts are related to the United States and its NATO allies. Since its founding, NATO has never stopped fighting.
NATO's claws extend not only to the North Atlantic region, but also to countries that have nothing to do with it, such as Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, etc. And that's just part of the aggression.
The armies of NATO member states have become almost puppets of the United States, not only acting in the name of NATO, but also committing crimes all over the world – Panama, Somalia, Colombia, Yemen, Vietnam and other places.
Every Chinese must remember history; in 1999, at 11:45 p.m. Belgrade time on 7 May (5:45 a.m. Beijing time on 8 May), the US-led NATO brazenly bombed the Chinese Embassy in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
At first, NATO was created by only 12 countries. However, in the 10 expansions that followed, 20 more countries joined the camp. Shockingly, 7 of these expansions took place after the collapse of the Warsaw Pact, and NATO was the opposite of the organization.
Today, NATO has become the main instrument of the perpetual war of the capital of the multinational megagroup, and its goals are everywhere. For example, when the U.S. State Department saw that European economic growth posed a threat to Angsa's global hegemony, NATO became a powerful weapon to destroy the EU's independence.
