Korean cars have missed the most glorious years of the domestic car market due to well-known reasons, resulting in a slump in sales, which have not recovered until today. Due to the sluggish sales, many international new cars have not been produced and sold in China, because they will lose money when they are listed.
However, as the world's fourth-largest automaker in terms of sales, the strength of Korean cars in other countries should not be underestimated.
A few days ago, the official picture of the new Hyundai i30 family was officially released, and the new car is currently planned to be sold only in Europe, and will provide hatchback, sedan fastback and station wagon models for consumers to choose from.
As a facelifted model, the new car has not changed much in terms of appearance compared to the old model, mainly for the interior and equipment upgrades. Production of the new model is scheduled to start in April 2024 at the Czech plant.
Although the appearance has not changed much, there are still improvements in some details. For example, the V-shaped daytime running lights embedded in the headlights are instantly recognizable, and the new car will also be equipped with LED headlights as standard. The new i30 is also available with the N Line Sport Package, which features sportier wheels and a more exaggerated lower bumper profile than the regular model.
The regular variant is fitted with 16-inch wheels, while the N Line variant is offered with 17- or 18-inch wheels, but with enhanced options. In addition, the new car will be available in 12 exterior colors, seven of which are newly added.
Entering the car, the improvement of the interior of the new car is the focus of this upgrade. It will come standard with a 10.25-inch central display and support for OTA updates, as well as a 4.2-inch LCD instrument cluster as standard.
Depending on the configuration, the new car will also be available in a variety of seat materials such as fabric, fabric + imitation leather, imitation leather + suede. In terms of assisted driving, the new car will be equipped with collision avoidance warning, lane departure warning and front and rear radar as standard, and can be equipped with an adaptive cruise assistance system. The actual performance of this system is very good, and it is very competitive in the same price range.
As for the power, the new car remains unchanged, still offering a 1.0-liter petrol engine with a maximum power of 120 hp, mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. In the configuration list, this powertrain can also be optionally equipped with a 48V mild hybrid, and a 1.5T gasoline engine is also available.
The car will be sold mainly in Europe, while its competitor is the famous Volkswagen Golf.
