In the process of boiling water, the removal rate of microplastics in water increases from 2% to 28% as the water temperature increases (25-95 °C) and to 84% when heated to 100 °C, and the concentration of microplastics decreases from 30 particles/microliter to 4.8 particles/microliter.

Where do the microplastics in the water go? The disappeared microplastics are transferred from the water to the precipitation of the scale, and the calcium carbonate in the scale can be co-precipitated with the microplastics to remove the microplastics in the water.
