The final of the 2024 Snooker World Open ended in Yushan, Jiangxi on the 24th. Chinese player Ding Junhui lost to British star Judd Trump 4:10 and missed the 15th crown of the individual ranking competition.

Ding Junhui is no stranger to Yushan – at the 2017 Yushan World Open, he won his 13th career ranking title. This time back in the blessed land, Ding Junhui, who is currently ranked ninth in the world, eliminated Grand Slam winner Sean Murphy, Iranian player Hossein Wafi and other good players on the way to qualify.
In the semifinals on the 23rd, after more than 4 hours of fierce battle, Ding Junhui finally defeated Australian star Neil Robertson 6:5, who can be called Ding Junhui's "nemesis" in recent years. In the game, Robertson took the lead in getting the match point, but Ding Junhui withstood the pressure at the critical moment and rushed through this hurdle.
This is the second time this season that Ding Junhui has advanced to the final of the ranking tournament after the British Championships, after he has suffered a championship drought of more than 4 years. The final adopts a best-of-19 system. In the first stage, Trump once again showed his hot hand and took a 3:0 lead at the beginning of the game.
Ding Junhui pulled one back by scoring 59 points in a single stroke in the fourth game, but Trump responded quickly and extended the lead to 7:1 after winning four games in a row. In the ninth game, Ding Junhui played the first single stroke to break 100 in the finals, ending the first stage with a score of 2:7.

Entering the second stage, Trump hit a single stroke to break 100 in the 10th and 12th innings and won the match point 9:3. Ding Junhui scored a key red ball in the 13th game and took advantage of the situation to get one back. However, due to falling too far behind before, Ding Junhui failed to recover the defeat in the end and passed by the champion.
Next, Ding Junhui will participate in the 2024 Snooker Tour Championship held in the UK from April 1 to 7 to once again challenge for the championship. Only the top 12 players in a single season are eligible to participate in the event, and Ding Junhui is among them.
