March 22, 2024 is the 32nd World Water Day, and March 22-28, 2024 is the 37th China Water Week. In order to implement the concept of green development, strengthen the people's awareness of water conservation and river protection, and fully implement the river chief system. On March 19, the River Chief Office of Jixiang Township, Gutian County, organized the majority of party members, cadres and volunteers to go to Qichayang Village, Jixiang Township to carry out the publicity activity of "Adhering to the Harmony of Man and Water and Building Ecological Civilization".
During the activity, volunteers went deep into villages, farmlands and other places to publicize and explain the current situation of water resources, the significance of water conservation, household water-saving tips, water resources protection and related laws and regulations to the masses by hanging propaganda slogans, distributing brochures, arranging publicity display boards, and walking into households. At the same time, some daily water problems of the residents were answered on the spot, and they were encouraged to actively participate in the water-saving action.
At the same time, volunteers were organized to carry out volunteer activities to patrol the river and protect the river in Qinxi Village, looking for plastic bags, beverage bottles, cigarette butts and other household garbage along the river, and picking them up in time. He also called on the surrounding people to pay attention to the water environment of the river around them, put an end to bad behaviors such as sewage entering the river, and protect water resources.
Through this activity, the public's awareness of "World Water Day" and "China Water Week" was further improved, and the public's understanding of the importance of managing water and protecting the ecological environment in accordance with the law was improved. In the next step, our township will take this publicity activity as an opportunity to strengthen the intensive utilization of water resources, further promote the construction of beautiful and happy rivers and lakes, strengthen the publicity and education of the masses, and jointly draw a beautiful picture of harmony between people and water, blue sky and clear water.
