The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra's S Pen emits a "burnt smell"? Officially, there is no need to worry
IT Home reported on March 22 that recently, some Galaxy S24 Ultra users posted on social media that the stylus S Pen that comes with their mobile phones exudes a "smell of burnt plastic". This discovery led many users of the Galaxy S series and Note series phones to follow suit and sniff their S Pen, only to find that this was not the only case.

IT Home noticed that some users said that the smell of the S Pen was "very stinky", and it smelled like it was "scorched by the inside of the phone". Tests have shown a similar situation with stylus on other Galaxy S series phones.
Some users are concerned about whether the smell is a sign of damage to the S Pen, but one moderator from Samsung's European community forum noted that because the S Pen is placed inside the slot near the phone's internal parts, these parts generate heat as they work, causing the stylus plastic case to heat slightly and emit a "burning" smell. The moderator stressed that this is normal and that there are no concerns about the performance or longevity of the S Pen.
So while it may not smell good, there's no need to worry about the quality of the S Pen.
