He is Yang Jianguo, who has been rated as an excellent teacher by Chuzhou University for the Aged for 6 consecutive years. The "Basic Theory of Photography" he taught was rated as a municipal brand course, and in 2022, he was awarded the Outstanding Teacher of the Anhui Provincial University System for the Elderly.
咬定青山不放松
In 2007, Yang Jianguo took a back seat due to his age, and he went to the University for the Elderly to study photography. Whether it is the winter when the wind and snow are fluttering, or the spring when the spring is cold, the autumn when the maple leaves are withering, and the summer when the sun is like fire, he has the perseverance of "grinding the iron pestle into a needle", while learning the theory of photography, while tirelessly carrying out practice, the streets and alleys of Chucheng, the mountains and rivers of eastern Anhui, have left his resolute figure. In order to further lay a solid foundation, in 2008, he also participated in the training course held by the Anhui Provincial Photography Association, and received a lot of lessons from the words and deeds of many famous artists, and the level of photography has made a qualitative leap. In 2010, the construction of Chuzhou's "Great Chucheng" was in full swing, Yang Jianguo, in order to retain the memory of history, first started from the consciousness of nostalgia, under the leadership of Zhu Nong, secretary general of the Municipal Photography Association, the four seasons were reincarnated, and tens of thousands of old photos of Chucheng were taken. In the process of shooting, he does not want to be a porter of nature and a photocopier of social life, and shoots his own personality, background color and thickness with heart and affection. Nowadays, some of the photos are left for the archives of the Photography Association, and some of them enrich the Chuzhou local chronicle library, leaving rare and valuable information for the transformation and prosperity of Chucheng's new and old cities.
A single flower blooming alone is not spring
With the continuous intensification of the elderly society in the mainland, in order to respond to the call of the state to advocate "the old have something to do, the old have fun", and strengthen cultural prosperity and self-confidence, as a Communist Party member and veteran, how to return the skills he has learned to the society, Yang Jianguo has repeatedly tried to take the initiative to ask for help, and resolutely took on the teaching task of "teaching the elderly an art", and served as a teacher of SLR photography and mobile phone photography at Chuzhou University for the Aged and Nanqiao District University for the Elderly. The leaders of the two senior universities were overjoyed and applauded.
In the past 10 years of teaching, he has always adhered to the principles of "teaching students according to their aptitude, teaching and learning from each other" and "ignoring theory and emphasizing practice", and actively carried out teaching activities. Chuzhou University for the Aged took the lead in carrying out electronic teaching, taught the basic theory of photography to the elderly students in simple terms through pictures and texts, and painstakingly compiled the "Chuzhou University for the Aged Photography Basic Course". Improve the theoretical and practical level of the elderly students from the aspects of equipment is the condition, technology is the guarantee, aesthetics is the foundation, culture is the connotation, and opportunity is the key.
In 2020, due to long-term fatigue, the lumbar disc herniation was so severe that it was difficult to walk, so he gritted his teeth and persevered, and did not let the students fall behind in a class. Later, he had to undergo surgery, and insisted on writing a 100,000-word "Mobile Phone Photography Basic Course" during his recuperation at home, which deeply touched the school leaders and elderly students, and praised him: "Teacher Yang is conscientious and willing to dedicate, he is really like a red candle, burning himself and illuminating others!"
A hundred flowers bloom in the garden
Yang Jianguo is kind, sincere, enthusiastic, helpful, and full of positive energy. He treats the students like brothers and sisters, and he teaches them by example and never tires of them. Photography has grown from one class to four classes now, and the number of students has grown from more than 20 to 300 now, with the oldest being a ninety-year-old man with flowing white hair. In the past, the elderly who lived in Chucheng signed up to study, but now even Wuyi, Lai'an, and even friends in Nanjing recommended by photographers have to sign up to study in Chuzhou.
Two or three hundred people from Wuyangyang filled four classrooms, and the male and female students were enthusiastic about learning, and once again burst into youthful vitality, rushing to study here. Teacher Yang taught tirelessly, and the students were like Mu Ganlin's learning, and they were full of ambition. Famous teachers produce high apprentices, whether it is scenery, flowers, humanities, sketches, portraits, street photography, pictorial photography, etc., the students can be familiar with it and come easily. In the past few years, the photography class has a total of 8 members of the Provincial Photography Association, 18 members of the Municipal Photography Association, and 3 members of the China Photography Copyright Association. The Guo Yumei sisters also won the International Photography Award in Hong Kong. More than 10 comrades such as "dark horses" Ding Baohua and Feng Hao have also won honors in film competitions at all levels, and many of their works have been published in professional photography magazines at all levels.
Only leave the clear air full of goodness
It's not easy to be a famous photography teacher. First of all, I can't say that I am a top master, but at least I have to be a jack-of-all-trades photographer. Secondly, we must have a strong sense of responsibility and a spirit of self-sacrificing contribution. Yang Jianguo has done it all, and he has tried his best to do it. There are 4 classes and 3 courses in a semester, and generally 50 courseware should be done in a semester, and it takes 50 days to take one courseware a day. For the 300 pairs of longing eyes of the old man, he had to often smell the chicken and dance, and forget to eat and forget to eat. When others are on vacation, they can go hiking and travel to let off steam, and he often leads new and old students to shoot the ever-changing changes around his creation. Therefore, relatives and friends often persuade him: "You are not young, you have become famous, you should lie down and rest, enjoy a happy life in your old age, work hard for a semester, busy and upside down, like a shopkeeper, only take four or five hundred yuan, it is better to be a lone ranger, go all over the world to create, take an award casually, come affordable and cool, really people can't figure it out, what are you trying to do?"
