Case review
On January 23, 2024, the Kangbashi Branch received a report from resident Pei Moumou that he was defrauded on the grounds of "million medical" insurance deductions, and transferred more than 700 yuan to the other party in total. After receiving the alarm, the anti-fraud center jointly built in the urban area immediately carried out emergency payment stop work, and worked day and night for many days to successfully stop payment and freeze more than 5.22 million yuan of funds involved in the case. At the same time, the sub-bureau immediately dispatched capable police forces to set up a special case team, and through accurate analysis and in-depth excavation, it was found that when the informant Pei Moumou was defrauded, 200,000 yuan and 1.7 million yuan were transferred to two bank cards respectively, and then the criminal suspects Zhang and Zhang Moumou took two bank cards to a jewelry counter in Qingdao City to buy gold. After investigation, the identity information of the two people was registered in Sanming, Fujian, and accordingly, the special case team went to Shandong and Fujian to carry out the investigation of the case. With the strong support of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the task force dug deep along the line, traced down to the upper line of Chi Moumou, and then discovered a money laundering gang with a clear structure, a clear division of labor, and many crimes in Fujian, and successfully arrested 6 criminal suspects. After interrogation, the suspects confessed to the fact that they helped the fraud gang launder money by buying and selling gold. At present, the case is under further investigation.
