Earth doesn't belong only to humans, in fact there are 1,500 of us aliens living together silently. The Interstellar Immigration Bureau is responsible for handling all matters related to these alien residents. In order to deal with the actions of some evil aliens secretly invading and destroying the earth, we must master all kinds of high-tech equipment, as we see today with this MOC model.
On March 19, 2024, Fan designer Pee DeeZee's work "Men in Black: Agent K's Transforming Jet Car" received 10,000 votes on the LEGO IDEAS platform, becoming the 34th project selected in the first round of IDEAS review in 2024. The results of the review are expected to be announced this summer.
Men in Black
Men in Black is a 1997 sci-fi comedy film directed by Barry Sonenfeld, based on the comic book of the same name by Lowell Cunningham, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, released by Columbia Pictures on July 2, 1997.
The film depicts a large number of aliens who have taken refuge on Earth due to the chaos of the cosmic war, and revolves around the interesting events of two agents of the Interstellar Immigration Bureau. The Men in Black film series, which includes three films released in 1997, 2002 and 2012, tells the story of the Men in Black, a mysterious organization founded in the United States in 1950 to admit, manage and monitor the alien inhabitants of Earth.
The film showcased innovation in all areas of production, and under the direction of VFX Supervisor Eric Brevig, ILM produced more than 200 special effects shots.
Think back to the first part of the movie, when Agent J drove that supercar through the Midtown Queens Tunnel, do you remember the red button he pressed? Don't forget to fasten your seatbelt before pressing it.
About the work
Seeing this work, the editor remembered the scene of Agent K listening to Elvis Presley's music tape while driving a car through the traffic on the roof of the tunnel, and Agent J in the upside-down passenger seat with all kinds of funny actions.
This LEGO IDEAS creation is a recreation of the iconic scene from the 1997 film Men in Black, Agent K's transformer jet. In the movie, the car transforms from an ordinary city car into an exciting jet at the push of a red button.
For PeeDeeZee, "Men in Black" was one of the treasured movies he watched growing up, and he claimed to have seen it countless times, especially the scene where Agent K and Agent J were speeding through New York City to the Midtown Tunnel in Queens, so he decided to recreate the sci-fi vehicle with Lego bricks.
The car was based on a 1987 Ford LTD Victoria Crown, which was jokingly referred to as the "Ford P.OS" by Agent J in the movie. It has been modified and has a variety of modes of operation.
After starting, the car was reconfigured to display large twin rear exhaust thrusters for extremely high speeds. The assist mode is activated by a red button next to the lever mounted on the floor and is only used in very specific cases.
When Agent K asks Agent J to press a button to bypass the time-critical traffic congestion in the Queens Tunnel, the car morphs and pokes out two jet engines from the tail, traveling fast enough to defy gravity and drive along the top of the tunnel, essentially "flying" above the traffic below.
Like the car in the movie, the 1987 Ford LTD Victoria Crown made by PeeDeeZee can be deformed, without disassembling any parts or reassembling, and can be easily folded and stretched.
Multiple covers of the vehicle body can be moved, the front engine compartment can also be stretched forward to show a lower posture after deformation, and the large double rear exhaust thrusters hidden in the trunk can be folded and pulled out, and the trunk cover is mounted directly on the thrusters to save space.

The name PeeDeeZee sounds arbitrary, and if you look at it from Latvian, it means "to pee", but we hope that the author is not Latvian. PeeDeeZee joined the IDEAS platform about 4 years ago. ANOTHER OF HIS WORKS WAS A SANDCASTLE CALLED "SAND CASTLE", BUT THE PROJECT ENDED WITH 4,302 VOTES.
Men in Black: Agent K's Morph Jet brought PeeDeeZee to the "10,000-vote club" for the first time, and the work was submitted to the IDEAS platform on November 21, 2022, and received 10,000 players after 484 days.

Assuming that the piece is selected as a LEGO IDEAS set through review, it will likely resemble the 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine ICONS set, and include a pair of minifigures, Agents K and J. The transformable setting is more like the ICONS 10262 James Bond™ Aston Martin DB5. Either way, the large brick model has always been the exclusive domain of the ICONS collection.
The work itself is a good display in either form, and the transformable design is fun to play with. The only problem is that the structure of the body may not be very strong, and the possibility of passing the examination is relatively slim.
