Liu Songren, a well-known veteran actor in Hong Kong
Admitted on personal Weibo
He will "no longer film"
Previously, Liu Songren said in an interview with TVB that he has no desire for filming now, and he has no desire for acting anymore, "I am afraid of showing up, and I don't like publicity, I am a very introverted person." He said that he will not film again in the future.
Liu Songren, born in 1949, is a native of Chaozhou, Guangdong, and was admitted to Hong Kong's Yingsheng TV (the predecessor of ATV) at the age of 22, and became a student of Class 5 of the artist training class. In 1976, he switched to TVB expansion.
In the past 50 years, he has participated in many works such as "Step by Step", "Lu Xiaofeng", "The Great Era", "Heaven and Dragon Slayer", "No. 1 in the World" and so on.
At the beginning of 2017, Liu Songren, Hawick Lau, and Jiang Xin collaborated on the TV series "The Heir", and then faded out of the screen. He devoted a lot of his time and energy to the musical performance of Matteo Ricci, because the stage play has always been his dream.
In fact, Liu Songren has rarely appeared in public in front of the camera in recent years, and at the beginning of 2020, Hong Kong media reported that Liu Songren was not in good health. Some media photographed Liu Songren on crutches, stumbling while walking, feeling like he had a stroke.
However, the news was quickly refuted, saying that Liu Songren did not have a stroke, but fell and was injured during the filming of the stage play. Liu Songren's friend Mi Xue also publicly explained, "I just fell down, and the doctor told him to walk slowly and rest more", which is not as serious as reported by the outside world.
