On February 12, the third day of the first lunar month, the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge continued to usher in the peak of passenger and vehicle flow. According to the data of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station, the station inspected more than 130,000 inbound and outbound passengers on the same day, setting a new record of 115,000 passengers in a single day during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day last year. For the first time, the number of single-plate vehicles in Hong Kong exceeded 8,000 in a single day, setting a new high since the implementation of the "Hong Kong Cars Go North". According to the statistics of Zhuhai Border Inspection Station, on February 12, the terminal inspected a total of 610,000 inbound and outbound passenger flows and 27,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 122.23% and 147.91%, respectively, and a year-on-year increase of 1.83% and 161.19% year-on-year in 2019. This Lunar New Year holiday is the first Spring Festival holiday after the official implementation of the "Macao cars going north" and "Hong Kong cars going north" policy. On February 12, more than 12,000 Hong Kong and Macao single-plate vehicles entered and exited through the port, accounting for more than 70% of the total passenger car customs clearance, becoming one of the most important factors pushing up the peak of passenger flow at the port.

According to the border inspection station, compared with the pre-holiday period, the peak hours of passenger and vehicle flow at the port during the Spring Festival are longer and the peak is higher. Since February 10, the peak hours of the various sites at the port have been connected end to end, and at the same time, the overall peak time is as long as 17 hours, and the passenger flow of the port exceeds 9,000 passengers per hour and the traffic flow exceeds 1,100 vehicles per hour during the peak period. In addition, due to the impact of the Hong Kong and Macao New Year celebrations, the number of "Hong Kong and Macao tourists" returning through Zhuhai Port at night has increased significantly, and the "late-night peak" of passenger flow has become a new feature of customs clearance at the port during festivals.

In addition, the station continued to optimize the diversion and diversion plan, actively communicated and coordinated with the joint inspection units of the port, extended the opening hours of the Zhuhai-Hong Kong Entry and Passenger Inspection Hall to 11 p.m., and added a number of temporary inspection channels in the 24-hour entry and exit passenger inspection hall to maximize the efficiency of customs clearance.

The border inspection department reminds that from the first day of the Lunar New Year to the third day of the Lunar New Year, and the fourth day of the Lunar New Year is the last day of the Spring Festival holiday in Hong Kong and Macao, it is expected that there will be a concentrated exit peak at the port.
