Bentley has just launched a bespoke limited edition Bentayga, a special edition inspired by Private Jack White, who was awarded the Victoria Cross after World War I. Commissioned by Bentley Manchester and Mulliner, it is unique and instantly recognisable. The special edition is finished in dark sapphire lacquer and comes with Blackline specs and rear privacy glass. The SUV comes with unique color-matched 22-inch wheels with copper-toned accents.
Inside, it features bronze decorative details that represent the copper wires used by Private Hero White to save the lives of his comrades. The seat piping, embroidery and other custom elements are all made of copper. At the same time, the organ stops made of anodized copper can be seen on the dashboard. Otenham House is a private white VC factory, built in 1853, whose silhouette appears on a wood-finished passenger dashboard, embodying the design origins of the VC.
In addition, the interior seat quilting reflects the style and function of the military uniform, and the Victoria Cross logo appears on the headrests. The loose cushion at the back is made of cashmere woven by Lancashire in honour of Jack White's blanket stripes. And the door pocket is cleverly embroidered with the image of the company's unofficial mascot, the pit bull.
This one-off special edition model is based on the Bentley Bentayga Azure, which means it's powered by a hybrid powertrain that integrates a 4.0-litre V8 engine that produces 542 hp and 770 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 290 km/h. The special edition Bentley was quickly sold to a long-time local customer, who also received a range of bespoke clothing handmade by Private White VC.
