According to industry sources, BYD is preparing to launch at least three passenger cars in South Korea, including an electric midsize sedan. To this end, one of BYD's new vehicles is undergoing performance certification evaluation by the Ministry of Environment of South Korea. This is a preliminary effort for BYD to launch in the country, with the aim of securing state subsidies for its electric passenger cars. An EV industry source said, "We are looking for dealer cooperation centered in Seoul so that the new car can be exhibited in July." ”

The report pointed out that if BYD launches electric passenger cars in the second half of the year, it will inevitably compete with Hyundai, Kia, and Tesla in the Korean market. BYD previously launched electric buses and electric trucks, and with the introduction of electric passenger cars, it is expected to accelerate its penetration in the South Korean electric vehicle market.
