Hamas again proposed the conditions for a ceasefire and the phased release of all hostages, Netanyahu: I don't agree

According to the global network, Hamas recently responded to a proposed ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which also includes the release of hostages. It is worth noting, though, that Netanyahu, as always, disagrees with this.

Netanyahu refused to withdraw his troops

As everyone knows, since the outbreak of the current round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has continued to deepen, the international community has been exerting pressure and mediation to promote a ceasefire between Palestine and Israel as soon as possible.

However, after four months of fighting in Gaza, Hamas has not fully released the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas, which is why Netanyahu has recently revealed his willingness to start ceasefire negotiations with Hamas amid the growing calls from the families of the hostages.

Civilians in Gaza have suffered a lot

Of course, then again, after all, the demands of the Palestinians and Israelis are clearly different, and after the previous interim ceasefire agreement, Hamas and Israel have never been able to reach a consensus on the "hostage-for-ceasefire" issue.

From Hamas's point of view, it would be nice to be able to broker an Israeli ceasefire in Gaza with the "hostage trump card" in his hand, but for Netanyahu, it seems that the most important thing is to achieve the objectives of the war, because only then can he give an account to the Israeli people.

Moreover, Netanyahu's cabinet still has many far-right elements, and if Netanyahu accepts the ceasefire so easily after four months of fighting in Gaza, he may not be able to retain his position as prime minister.

The ceasefire proposed by Hamas consists of three phases: in short, the first phase involves the release of Israeli women and male hostages under the age of 19, the second phase involves the release of the remaining Israeli male hostages, and the third phase involves the exchange of the remains of the victims.

Of course, in the process of hostage exchange, Hamas also hopes that Israel can release some of the so-called "Palestinian prisoners", after all, Israel has arbitrarily arrested Palestinians in the West Bank under various pretexts over the years.

Blinken visits the Middle East again

It should be said that Hamas hopes to reach a long-term ceasefire with Israel through this ceasefire plan, and even envisages that each phase will last for 45 days, but as mentioned above, no matter how good Hamas's idea is, the Israeli side will have to nod and agree, but it is clear that the likelihood of Netanyahu accepting it is very low.

Although US Secretary of State Antony Blinken threatened during his recent trip to the Middle East that the trip was aimed at facilitating a hostage exchange and ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, in fact, given the current US-Israeli relationship and Netanyahu's current situation, he may not accept Hamas's conditions even if the United States presses him.

Judging from Netanyahu's statement, he firmly believes that the Israeli army in Gaza will be victorious in a few months, and that the only way to broker Hamas's release of the hostages is for Israel to crush them militarily and unconditionally.

But what is ironic is that since the outbreak of the current round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the combat effectiveness of the Israeli army is really almost meaningless, and after several months of fighting, Hamas has not been wiped out, which means that it is impossible for the Israeli army to win the war in Gaza at this stage.

The fighting in Gaza has not stopped

In the absence of any solution, the Israeli military has even used the "next strategy", and even pinned its hopes on introducing sea water to "attack" Hamas, but even so, Netanyahu's operational goals have never been achieved.

Not to mention that the previous "Al-Aqsa flood" military operation has swept Netanyahu to the ground, but now that Hamas has not been eliminated for a long time, the families of Israeli hostages are constantly holding demonstrations and protests, and the infighting of senior Israeli officials, these can already show that Netanyahu is not a headache at the moment.

In order to keep his position as prime minister, Netanyahu does not have any intention of retreating now, but to be honest, even if he can win "Hamas" and achieve a real sense of "making up for his mistakes", he may be about to reach the end of this prime ministership.
