The Chongqing Hospital and National Regional Medical Center Construction Project of Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology was jointly constructed by the municipal government and Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and specifically undertaken by Liangjiang New Area, and was included in the list of the third batch of national regional medical center construction projects in May 2022.
The project is located in Longxing New Town, Liangjiang New District, with a land area of about 210 acres, a total construction scale of about 380,000 square meters, a total investment of about 4.5 billion yuan, and a planned 1,500 beds in the first phase, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The project is mainly composed of basement and equipment room, Building 1 Medical Complex, Building 2 Inpatient Building, Building 3 Inpatient Building, Building 4 Medical Auxiliary Building, Building 5 Infection Building, Building 6 Fever Clinic, Concierge Room and Ground Auxiliary Rooms.
The project plans to fully introduce the advantageous disciplines and management team of Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, build a regional difficult and critical diagnosis and treatment center, a medical talent training center, a medical research transformation center and other "three centers", as well as a medical exchange and cooperation base, a medical college student internship and teaching base and other "two bases", based in Chongqing, radiating to the southwest, and building a first-class national comprehensive regional medical center in China.
