Haiyan Village retains the characteristics of Yunnan dwellings since the Qing Dynasty, with old adobe houses, brick houses, gatehouse buildings and typical "Yiyin" buildings in old Kunming, as well as stone streets and beautiful natural scenery by Dianchi Lake, which gives it a unique cultural heritage.
Combined with the local traditional culture, Chinese and foreign artists have created 31 works of art from different aspects such as innovation, integration, immersion, communication and discussion with the techniques of modern art, including environmental enhancement and transformation, installation design, installation photography, sculpture and other art forms.
The Haiyan Village Guest Hall Upgrading and Renovation Project has replanned the layout of the space, reset the roof, walls, doors and windows, improved lighting, cleanliness and hygienic conditions, and increased public spaces such as reading and exhibitions.
It not only retains the historical sense of the building, but also realizes a more harmonious and unified exterior style, which provides more possibilities for the entertainment life of residents and the holding of large-scale events as well as the service of tourists.

The work "Memories of Haiyan" protects and utilizes the old houses of the villagers, the roof tiles are made of clay and glass, the walls are plastered with grass and mud, and fishing nets are hung with iron chains. The original stove, bed, and ladder have been preserved.
French artist Vassilia Pirierros: "My idea is to preserve this house, and here I invite you to sit down and think for yourself where we came from, where we are going, our relationship with the whole world. ”
The artist also paints on the exterior walls of residents' houses, using abstract symbols to express his understanding of Haiyan Village.
During the Dianchi Lake Terroir Art Season, various cultural activities will be held here to promote tourism and promote the development of tourism along the Dianchi Lake.
