2. Volkswagen sales are strong, and Germany and Japan occupy half of the B-class cars

In the sedan sales ranking, Volkswagen's Lavida followed Sylphy with 345879 units and became the runner-up in sedan sales in the Chinese market in 2023. Sutar's sales are not far behind, with sales of 285,050 units rarely rivaled in the A+ class sedan.

In the B-segment, Volkswagen also has a great advantage, except for the B-segment Camry, which has sold 220,000 units, no B-segment car is the opponent of Magotan and Passat.

At the same time, Volkswagen's Bora also reaped annual sales of 140,000, and Lingdu, which focuses on young sports, will also sell more than 100,000 units in 2023. It can be seen that in 2023, Volkswagen will still achieve good sales results in the field of fuel vehicles.

3. Hybrid pure electric vehicles are in full bloom, and the future of new energy vehicles can be expected

In the field of fuel vehicles, joint ventures do have a big advantage over imported brands. However, with the rise of new energy vehicles, this gap is constantly being erased.

In the lists of some media, many domestic new energy vehicles with pure electric version and hybrid version are counted separately, which leads to the illusion that the sales of new energy vehicles in the sedan field are weak when looking at some lists. For example, the BYD Qin Plus sold 2735566 units of the DM-i hybrid version, while the all-electric EV version sold 122615 units.

The combined sales of these two versions are close to 400,000 units, directly surpassing the sales of Sylphy, the top seller in the list of gasoline vehicles. In the B-segment segment, BYD Han's EV version, DM-i, and DM-p versions will sell more than 200,000 units in 2023. You can also wrestle with the Camry, the sales champion of the fuel B-segment car.

At the same time, it can also be seen in the list of fuel vehicles that some once popular models are gradually retreating from the altar. The Honda Accord was once the B-segment sales champion for many years, but its annual sales have slipped from nearly 200,000 to less than 170,000 after the 2023 facelift.

The Volkswagen Golf, which sold 26,000 units a month at its peak, now sells only 54,457 units a year, and the Focus, a generation of classic models that sold more than 30,000 units a month, has even completely disappeared from the list.

In addition, the focus of domestic new energy is on SUV models, and it is normal for some traditional joint ventures and foreign brands in the field of sedans to have certain advantages. But this gap is also narrowing at a rate that is visible to the naked eye.

Although BBA and Porsche still occupy an absolute advantage in sedan sales in the million-dollar field, with the launch of new models, domestic cars are bound to continue to challenge foreign car companies in this price range.
