According to the Weibao of Chongqing Science and Technology City, on September 30, 2024, the Science Hall project will officially enter the trial operation stage, with the new engine of Chongqing's convention and exhibition industry, help the development of the convention and exhibition industry in southwest China, promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle, and show the new style of Chongqing.
On October 22, 2023, the Science Hall project made a wonderful appearance at the "18th China International Convention and Exhibition Cultural Festival", comprehensively demonstrating its advantages of "one hall with multiple uses and multiple museums in one" multi-functional urban complex, as well as the advantages of having the largest exhibition hall in Chongqing, with the leading conference and exhibition and supporting functions in China and the benchmark in southwest.
At the cultural festival, the project took the lead in signing the "Entrusted Operation Agreement" with China Merchants Exhibition and Intercontinental Group, and signed the "Letter of Intent" with eight industry associations, including China Convention and Exhibition Industry Association, China International Optoelectronic Expo and Munich Exhibition. The preliminary operation work of the project was launched, and the operation management was further laid out in advance, and the potential customer group was locked, so as to lay a solid foundation for the Science Hall to build exhibition IP and improve the quality and efficiency of operation.
It was at this event that Science Hall signed a contract with China Merchants Exhibition, a subsidiary of China Merchants Shekou, to confirm that the conference and exhibition would be operated by it. At the same time, the Science Hall Science and Technology Service Center successfully introduced Hualuxe Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Inn Hotel under InterContinental Group, and the first international high-end hotel in Science City was officially launched.
Since then, the operation and promotion of the Science Hall has been in full swing.
On January 13th, the special promotion symposium of the Science Hall Project of Western (Chongqing) Science City was successfully held in Shenzhen.
According to reports, this special promotion meeting focused on the introduction of the Science Hall project, design concept, venue planning, transportation network, operation preparation and other aspects, and made a wonderful project promotion to more than 200 conference and exhibition professional elites and representatives of international organizers, showing the Science Hall, a new business card of Chongqing.
The Science Hall has the comprehensive attribute of "one hall with multiple purposes and multiple halls in one", including four functional sections: convention and exhibition center, conference center, cultural center and science and technology innovation center, and is the largest column-free multi-function hall, column-free banquet hall and column-free exhibition hall in southwest China, of which the 12,800-square-meter column-free exhibition hall can meet the needs of international top summits, large-scale comprehensive conferences and exhibitions.
According to the organizers of the conference, in this exchange meeting, the heads of many major conferences and exhibitions at home and abroad, such as Informa Markets, Reed Exhibitions (China), Messe Munich, Messe Frankfurt, Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo, Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Expo and Fair, Shenzhen Desay Exhibition, etc., took turns to speak, expressing their ardent expectations for the Science Hall project.
The participants generally believed that the implementation of the Science Hall project will not only enhance the comprehensive strength of the international conference and exhibition venues in the southwest region, but also provide a new communication platform for exhibitors and visitors, and set a new benchmark for the industry. According to the construction unit, as a supporting project of the Science Hall, the Science and Technology Service Center includes a banquet and conference center, a five-star hotel and a four-star hotel, with a total construction area of 99,000 square meters.
According to the plan, the Science Hall is a key project of Chongqing and the Science City, and is a landmark and leading project to accelerate the implementation of the strategy of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle and the construction of the Western (Chongqing) Science City.
After the completion of the Science Hall project, it will become a public service platform integrating science and technology experience, science and technology exhibition, academic exchanges, innovation incubation and other functions, as well as a venue for international conferences and science and technology cultural forums.

According to the micro newspaper of Chongke City, the supporting facilities around the Science Hall have officially entered the bidding stage.
On January 30, the "Bidding Announcement for the Supporting Facilities Project Around the Science Hall" was publicly released.
The tender project includes the upper span of the Gaolong Avenue overpass on the north side of the Science Hall and the upper span of the Xinchun Road pedestrian bridge on the west side of the Science Hall.
Among them, the overpass over Gaolong Avenue on the north side of the Science Hall includes a landscape platform and two overpasses, with an area of about 4,407 square meters, the special-shaped bridge is about 66m long, the total width of the structure is 60-110m, and the two overpasses are connected in the middle, and the pedestrian bridge on the west side of the Science Hall is a single bridge, with a total length of about 100m and a width of 4-5m.
The total construction period of the project is 180 calendar days. Among them, the construction period of the north upper span flyover is 180 calendar days (the completion date is August 30, 2024), and the construction period of the west flyover is 90 calendar days (the completion date is May 30, 2024).
As can be seen from the completion date of the supporting project, the overall construction period of the Science Hall project will be in line with the trial operation plan on September 30.
According to the construction unit, at present, the main structure of the steel structure of the conference and exhibition of the Science Hall project and the science and technology service center has been fully capped, and it has fully entered the construction stages of mechanical and electrical, curtain wall, metal roof and fine decoration.
On January 26, the construction of the main secondary structure of the North District of the Chongqing Science Hall Conference and Exhibition was successfully completed, laying the foundation for the follow-up large-scale decoration and equipment installation projects.
According to the investment and operation unit, the Science Hall project has a total land area of about 400 acres and a total construction area of about 346,000 square meters, which is a key construction project at the municipal level for Chongqing and Western (Chongqing) Science City to implement the national strategy of building a twin-city economic circle in Chengdu and Chongqing and serve the needs of national innovation.
According to the plan, after the completion of the project, it will become the source of scientific and technological innovation empowerment in the Science City, the exhibition place for industrial cohesion and exchange, the platform for science and technology gathering in the Science City for the world, the venue for future high-level international summits, high-end business conferences, innovation forums, industry forums and internationally renowned science and technology and cultural forums, and a public service platform for the exchange of large-scale scientific and technological innovation resources and information.
