Inherit the red gene, continue the red blood, and carry forward the revolutionary culture. On January 30, the launching ceremony of the protection and utilization project of the former site of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Jinyun Mountain, Beibei. More than 150 people attended the event, including leading experts from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, China Cultural Relics Newspaper, China Cultural Relics Exchange Center, National Museum of China, Chinese Memorial Hall of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the National Alliance for the Exhibition of Revolutionary Cultural Relics, and the National Alliance for the Protection and Utilization of Revolutionary Cultural Relics; representatives of relevant units and museums from Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, and other provinces and autonomous regions, Mianyang, Bazhong, and Zawuqi; and representatives of veteran comrades and relatives of the Southwest Service Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
In December 1949, the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was stationed in Chongqing to lead the work of Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Xikang and Chongqing Municipality. Deng Xiaoping, Liu Bocheng, and He Long served as the first, second, and third secretaries of the Southwest Bureau respectively. In December 1954, the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was abolished. The old site carries the outstanding contributions made by the three leaders to the long-term and stable development of the southwest region at a time when all industries are ready to be developed.
The former site of the Jinyun Mountain Office of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China is located in the Shanmu Park of Jinyun Mountain, Beibei District. The protection and utilization project will rely on the main building of the original Jinyun Village Primary School to build a comprehensive exhibition (exhibition and education center) of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and build an original display (story hall) around the former residences of Deng Xiaoping, Liu Bocheng and He Long, extend the cultural and tourism resources of Panjinyun Mountain, and form a "1+3+N" exhibition and research system. The project will focus on the two major themes of primary and secondary school students' research and party member and cadre education, and develop curriculum handouts, repertoire creation, literary works, immersive performances, theme trails, cultural and creative products, digital construction, etc.
At the launching ceremony, the Red Research and Education Center of the former site of the Jinyun Mountain Office of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Beautiful China Jinyun Mountain Ecological Civilization Education Base, the Research Center for the Protection and Utilization of the Former Site of the Jinyun Mountain Office of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the on-site teaching base of Xiaoping Cadre College, the off-campus practice base of the Young Pioneers, the History and Culture Research Association of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Chongqing, and the Party Member Education Base were unveiled.
At the same time, the National Revolutionary Cultural Relics Exhibition Alliance, the Special Committee of the Exhibition Hall of the Revolutionary Memorial Hall of the China Museum Association, the Chongqing Museum Association (Southwest Museum Alliance), the Chongqing Research and Travel Association, the Travel Agency Branch of the Chongqing Travel Agency Association, the Youth League Municipal Committee, Southwest University, the Hongyan Revolutionary History and Culture Center, Xiaoping Cadre College, the Exhibition Hall of Deng Xiaoping's Former Residence, the Comrade Liu Bocheng Memorial Hall, the He Long Memorial Hall, the Marshal Nie Rongzhen Exhibition Hall, the Qiu Shaoyun Memorial Hall, the Huang Jiguang Memorial Hall, the Chongqing Library, the Chongqing Children's Library, Bashu Ivy League Primary School, Xie Jiawan School, Xida Affiliated Primary School and other units signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Beibei District Committee.
Next, all parties will integrate resources, based on scientific research, focusing on protection and utilization, taking academic exchanges as a platform, talent training as the support, social service as the purpose, and co-construction and sharing as the guarantee, jointly implement the protection and utilization project of the former site of the Southwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, build a red research and education center, inherit the red gene, continue the red blood, accelerate the construction of the red gene inheritance demonstration area, and help build a culturally strong city in the new era.
