For example, the size of the radiator should not be too large, otherwise it will not be easy to install. I found a new mini single tower, although it is not a new product, but it is really super suitable for me, and I hate to see you late. PURE ROCK SLIM 2.
As soon as I saw the word "SLIM" in the model number, words such as "slim", "slender", and "thin" immediately came to mind. That's one of the distinguishing features of the PURE ROCK SLIM 2.
It is only 135mm tall and has a fan size of 92mm. It can be easily installed in a small chassis. The main one is super silent, and it is the cheapest of the same kind of big brands on the market. Next, let's stir-fry a cold rice.
【Unboxing】
The product is packaged in a black box, and the front and back are marked with parameter information. The artistic highlight "quiet!" translates to quiet.
The plastic box lined with the inner lining protects the silicone grease on the base of the radiator from being touched, and the second is to fix the tower and fan so that they do not spread out and shake during transportation.
Accessories include: a set of Intel fastener holders, 2 fan wires, 1 pack of dryers, and instructions. The package is marked with support for Intel's 1200 and 115X interfaces, as well as AM3+ and AMD4.
Note: AMD fasteners are installed by default.
【Appearance】
The full dimensions of the PURE ROCK SLIM 2 are: 82 (D) x 97 (W) x 135mm (H) with a fan of 92mm. Compared to the regular heatsink with 120mm and 140mm fans, the difference in volume can be clearly seen. The height of the conventional radiator is generally 160~165mm.
1. Tower body
Although the Sparrow is small and has all the organs, this is a standard tower structure, which contains all the functional elements of similar radiators, such as: all-aluminum alloy high thermal conductivity tower, wearing FIN + folding FIN process. The top cover has a Russ texture and a logo in the center.
The part of the heat pipe that passes through the top cover is made into a column, which makes it look less rugged. At the top of the cylinder, there is also a laser-like polishing effect.
The front and back sides of the tower body have curved shapes. Each fin has a wavy fold, and the workmanship details are in place.
The radiator has been coated with silicone grease from the factory. The copper tube and the base are in direct contact.
The upper part of the base is in the shape of a fin, which increases passive heat dissipation.
The PURE ROCK SLIM 2 has a total of 3 6mm copper tubes, which are very well integrated with the base and have exquisite workmanship.
Details: The radiator is designed with a slight "crooked neck", and the overall bias is towards the rear of the chassis when installed. It can be identified by the tilt direction of the copper pipe, or by looking at the logo on the top cover.
The purpose of "crooked neck" is to prevent the memory from colliding with the fan. After testing, whether it is a dual-memory motherboard or a four-slot motherboard, it can ensure that the innermost memory does not touch the fan.
2. Fan
The standard cooling fan is a scaled-down version of the Pure Wings 2. The structure consists of a circular frame with four corners. It measures 92mm and has a total of 7 blades.
Official note: The maximum speed is 2000rpm. In the actual test, there will be an excess of nearly 10% at full speed (please refer to the content of subsequent tests).
There are air guide grooves on the front and back of the fan blades, which can add stability for high-speed rotation. The blade frame gap is very small, and the scientific fan blade inclination angle is good for increasing wind pressure and reducing noise.
The cable adopts a single small 4pin connection cable, which supports PWM speed regulation. The length is moderate, and it can be just right to tie a knot normally, and connect to the CPU_Fan socket. The wire is flat, hard, and wide.
【Installation】
Now that the AMD fastener is installed by default, I'm going to demo the AM4 platform first. If you are on an Intel platform, remove the 4 screws to replace the bracket.
1. Demo AMD platform installation:
The fixing principle is similar to the snap on the original AMD cooler. The improvement is that the Dejing Realm has 2 "handles", which is more stable.
First, hook (2) collars to the brackets that come with the motherboard. Then press down on the handle clockwise, tighten it and fix it.
2. Demonstrate Intel 1200 platform installation:
Prior to and including Intel 11th generation, use the Intel stand included in the original accessory. There is no need for an additional backplate and it is very easy to install.
There are 4 push feet on the bracket, and the structure is somewhat similar to an expansion tube.
When installing: We pushed the pusher downwards to expand the dimension of the pusher, and it became thicker! Then rotate the actuator clockwise to limit the position of the actuator and prevent it from retracting. Because the outermost side is wrapped in a ring of plastic, it will not damage the motherboard.
When disassembling: Rotate the actuator counterclockwise to unlock the limit. Then pull back the 4 pushrods and the radiator can be removed.
Maybe it's because the radiator and fan are only 385g in total. And it's not tall either, and the lever arm is small, so it's stable enough without a backplate.
Summary: This kind of "no backplate" and "no screws" fixing method is very novel and easy to disassemble and assemble. It is very suitable for some people engaged in maintenance and testing.
【Test】
1. Noise measurement
Only the PURE ROCK SLIM 2 radiator is installed, and the power is turned on and off (does not rotate). There is no chassis shell, which is equivalent to an open platform.
First, measure the indoor noise floor with a decibel meter, which is about 33 decibels.
Then, manually set the initial speed, respectively: 20%, 50%, 75%, 100% speed, and measure as follows:
Conclusion: Less than 50% speed, only 33 dB can be measured, indicating that the noise at medium and low speed is at least lower than that of the environment. After 75% rpm, it is about 35 dB, and the full speed is 41 dB.
Home test, limited accuracy, for reference only. It would be quieter if the chassis was put on. This noise control is great and perfect for desktop ITX use. For GPU-only hosts, make sure you don't get disturbed.
2. Test the heat dissipation performance
Although the CPU now gives a TDP reference value, the actual power consumption of the oven will exceed the TDP (or even more than double the full load). Therefore, before choosing a cooler, users need to fully understand their CPU characteristics, as well as the use conditions, will it touch full load?
Personally, I think that the maximum TDP of 130W marked by PURE ROCK SLIM 2 should be interpreted as the maximum heat dissipation power consumption. Based on this, I chose to test: (1) AMD R5-5600G, (2) i5-11600KF.
Among them, (1) is ironclad and will not exceed 130W. (2) After turning off the AVX512 instruction set, it is around 130W at full load, which is just stuck at the officially limited threshold, which is suitable for observing the performance of the upper limit of heat dissipation. (If you don't turn off the avx512, the full load will exceed 200W, and it is not in the scope of investigation).
Note: The avx512 is a new instruction set added to the 11th generation U, which has no effect on most gamers, and will only increase power consumption and temperature unnecessarily. Intel has blocked the AVX512 since the 12th generation.
Test 1: In a 10-minute single-bake FPU test, both platforms were able to maintain full power, all cores, and full speed. The PURE ROCK SLIM 2 IS INDEED GUARANTEED TO RUN AT FULL SPEED BELOW 130W.
Test 2: 5600G default temperature wall is 65°C, when the excess is not large, the main frequency will change slightly, for example, individual cores will jump back and forth at 4176MHz~4192MHz, but overall it is still close to the acceleration state of all-core 4.2GHz.
ROG gamers can turn on the EZ Tuning tool to overclock with one click, which has been measured to be buck overclocking. The all-core clock speed is increased by 0.03GHz, the core temperature is reduced by 10°C (only 57°C), and the fan speed is also reduced by 7%. FOR TRUE LOW-POWER Us like 5600G, the PURE ROCK SLIM 2 is easy to handle, and you can toss it as you want.

Test 3: Looking at the higher power consumption of 11600KF (with avx512 off), I compare it to another large single tower (dual 140 fans). The results show that the CPU runs at the same speed, and the main frequency, voltage, and power consumption are the same. THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE PURE ROCK SLIM 2 FAN SPINS FASTER AND HAS A 10°C HIGHER CORE TEMPERATURE. This is the price of a small fan, a single fan, and a small fin area. However, the maximum full load is 70°C, and I am still very satisfied.
The specific data is summarized in the above table for easy comparison and viewing.
Note: The purpose of the oven is to simulate 100% operation at full load, which is used for video rendering, 3D modeling, scientific computing and other scenarios, and long-term operation of such high-load applications has high requirements for heat sinks. If you are just a gamer and a light office, the CPU usage usually does not exceed 50%, and the temperature is low, so the heat sink is not so demanding.
How to buy?
The PURE ROCK SLIM 2 IS AN OLD PRODUCT AND DOES NOT HAVE 1700 BUCKLES, SO INTEL 12 GENERATIONS AND LATER USERS DO NOT NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT. But it's strange that it hasn't stopped selling.
Because Dejingjie is an imported product, there will be a price difference due to taxes and fees, such as: Micro Center shopping network, the price is 29.9 US dollars. Meiya Haitao costs 261 yuan, and Prime members can get free shipping.
There is only one "bequiet German business and moral quiet world" in China, which should also be a domestic agent, and I generally like to buy it here. BUT I DON'T GET THIS MODEL LIKE PURE ROCK SLIM 2. At present, only JD third-party sales of this model in China, the price shows 258 yuan.
Summary:
A miniature single-tower radiator for small ITX users. For some chassis that do not have Mesh side panels and use a power front structure. Tower radiators make it easier to build (front and rear) air ducts to take away heat. If not, add a fan at the tail for better results.
There are also some users who don't like water cooling and feel that it is not easy to plug the water pipe in a compact space. Low- and medium-power CPUs also don't need to be cooled with water. As mentioned above, the advantages of the mini tower are highlighted.
The PURE ROCK SLIM 2 can provide a quiet effect of about 40dB at full speed. And the CPU with 130W power consumption of the soft display is pressed to 70°C, which is really good to use.
