The Huangchuan Center of the Provincial Taiwan Junior Reporter Club walked into Wanxin Ophthalmology to carry out interview and practice activities

On the afternoon of January 30, 2024, the young reporters of the Huangchuan Center of the Little Reporter Club of Henan Radio and Television Station carried out a meaningful interview practice trip. I came to Wanxin Ophthalmology, a popular science base for youth vision testing in Huangchuan County, to have close contact with ophthalmologists and understand the importance of vision testing and protection.

Under the meticulous arrangement of Wanxin Ophthalmology, the young reporters first visited a variety of advanced vision testing equipment and had an in-depth understanding of the process and principle of vision testing. During the visit, the young reporters showed a strong interest in each equipment and asked the staff about its working principle.

Entering the interview session, the young reporters had a warm exchange with the ophthalmologist. They actively ask questions and seek professional answers about the causes of myopia and preventive measures. The doctor patiently replied and emphasized the importance of scientific eye use and regular eye checks. This interview not only enriched the ophthalmology knowledge of the young reporters, but also stimulated their sense of responsibility to spread the awareness of vision protection to the people around them.

Subsequently, Wang Yue, director of Wanxin Ophthalmology, brought a vivid science lesson of ophthalmology knowledge to the young reporters. Dr. Wang explained in detail the structure of the eye, the principles of vision, and how to protect the eyes in easy-to-understand language. This popular science class allowed the young reporters to have a deeper understanding of their eyes and learn how to better take care of their eyes in life.

In order to allow the young reporters to experience the process of vision testing, Wanxin Ophthalmology specially arranged a simulation experience session. The young reporters put on white coats and simulated a doctor conducting an eye test, and experienced the importance and actual operation process of vision testing. This session gave them a deeper understanding of the practical significance of vision testing.

At the end of the event, Wanxin ophthalmology staff awarded each young reporter a "little ophthalmologist" honorary certificate and a small gift in recognition of their outstanding performance in the event. This special honor is not only an acknowledgement of their participation in the activities, but also an encouragement to actively spread the knowledge they have learned about vision protection in their daily lives.

The event was highly praised and observed by Wang Lingyan, vice chairman of the County Association for Science and Technology. She said that through such practical activities, children can better understand scientific knowledge, enhance their sense of self-protection, and also lay a solid foundation for cultivating future science popularizers.
