Shenzhen provides a municipal living allowance for international students, including 15,000 yuan per undergraduate student, 25,000 yuan per master's student, and 30,000 yuan per doctoral student.
In terms of buying a house, Shenzhen households only need 3 years of social security when buying a house, while non-Shenzhen households need 5 years. In addition, deep households can purchase up to two homes.
In terms of housing, international students can apply to rent housing and international student apartments provided by the city and district governments.

Start-up subsidy

Beijing
One-time start-up subsidy: Entrepreneurs in the year of graduation and within two years of graduation can enjoy a one-time start-up subsidy of 8,000 yuan.
Start-up fee: For entrepreneurs with an overseas master's degree or above or a doctorate degree before going abroad, they can receive a subsidy of 100,000 yuan for start-up expenses after passing the evaluation of the Beijing Overseas Scholars Center.

Shanghai has opened the 2024 targeted selection for fresh college students, and accepts applications from international students.
A total of 73 institutions were shortlisted, covering the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan and other countries and regions.

Guangdong Province
On November 21, 2023, Guangdong Province issued the "Announcement on the Selection of Outstanding University Graduates in 2024".
It contains a list of 60 foreign universities, mainly in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong, China.

Preferential admission for children

Beijing
Education of minor children: The government does not charge any fees other than those prescribed during the nursery and compulsory education stages.
Transfer of children who have studied in foreign universities: For children who have studied in foreign universities, they can apply for transfer to colleges and universities in Beijing.

Shanghai
Enrollment policy for children after settling down: children who return to China or children who move with them in China can participate in the high school entrance examination of middle schools and other schools.
Among them, students who have lived abroad for more than 5 years will receive appropriate bonus points during the language adaptation period (3 years), and the specific methods will be specified separately.

Preferential education for children: Children of international students can enter the nearest public school, eliminating the need for high sponsorship fees.

Tax-free car purchase
International students can enjoy exemption from customs duties, consumption tax and value-added tax on the main imported parts of domestic automobiles.
International students are exempt from the vehicle purchase tax of 10% of the taxable price of the whole vehicle.
The tax-free vehicles that can be purchased by returnees are limited to domestic joint venture brands.
Original imported models and domestically produced models that are not within the scope of tax exemption are not eligible for tax exemption.
At present, most of the joint venture brands have entered the tax-free car catalog, which can basically meet the car purchase needs of international students.

Academic research support
For scholars returning from studying abroad, they will be strongly supported in their academic careers in China.
When applying for senior titles, such as professors or researchers, priority is usually given to returnees.
At the same time, some research institutions, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, will also provide international students with support in terms of scientific research funds, including start-up funds, equipment support and human resources support.
