Merchants will always launch some events

For example, "Double 11", "Double 12", "Year-end and Year-end Rewards"

While giving back to new and old customers

Also pull a wave of traffic for yourself

Recently, scammers have been impersonating merchants to engage in customer feedback activities

Divert traffic in new ways to commit fraud

It's hard to guard against

How exactly does this deception work?

Last month, Ms. Fu, who works in an office building, received a courier that appeared to be Shaoyang, Hunan. With many years of experience in online shopping, Ms. Fu feels that this express delivery is a bit abnormal, first of all, the express delivery is very light, the package is almost empty, and secondly, according to their own habits, the consignee information of online shopping is to fill in the screen name, this time the consignee actually showed his real name.

Ms. Fu inquired about her recent online information, confirmed that she did not have such online shopping, with doubts, she dialed the 96110 anti-fraud consultation hotline, through the introduction of the police officer, and finally determined that this is a new type of fraud drainage method with express delivery as the medium.

Recently, there have been a number of cases in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, where the victim received an unfamiliar express package and was lured to swipe the order after scanning the code on the mobile phone, and the victim lost a large amount.

Case 1

In December last year, Miss Chen of Fengze District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, received an unfamiliar courier in her unit, and opened it to see that it was a few greeting cards, with the words "Shuijiawen ⭐ Double 12 Shopping Carnival", "Thanksgiving to you, giving back to users", "Scan the code to receive the gift package" and so on. Ms. Chen scanned the code to enter a WeChat group called "Quality of Life 114", and the customer service said that to receive the gift package, she needed to download the "LESION" App. Ms. Chan downloaded the app through the QR code provided by the other party. Entering the interface of the App, there are many people chatting in it, all about doing tasks to earn pay, and many group members claim to have earned commissions. The customer service of the App said that there is a double 12 Taobao task today, and the rewards are very rich, and you can get 1300 yuan back by recharging 1000 yuan. Miss Chen believed it and transferred a total of more than 20,000 yuan to the bank card provided by the other party, but she never received the refund. The customer service also said that because of Miss Chen's operation error, the system was stuck, and an additional order of 80,000 yuan was needed, otherwise the money invested in the early stage could not be returned. Only then did Ms. Chan realize that she had been deceived and called the police.

Case 2

At the beginning of this month, Ms. Li of Nan'an, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, received an unfamiliar courier at home, and when she opened it, she saw that it was a scratch card. After Ms. Li scratched it off, it showed that she had won a gift package, and she needed to scan the QR code under the card to redeem the prize, and Ms. Li scanned the code according to the prompts to enter a WeChat group, and first submitted the receipt information. The group owner said that as long as you follow the designated merchants on the Taobao App and upload screenshots, you can receive the reward. Group members also said that they earned money by doing tasks. So Ms. Li also paid attention to several designated Taobao merchants, and successfully obtained dozens of yuan in rewards, which made Ms. Li gradually believe it.

Then Ms. Li downloaded the software of "MRSONG" according to the guidance of the other party, and the customer service in the software claimed to complete the activity of "helping principal merchants improve data", and the task was 30-60% of the commission, and the commission was returned together after the task was completed. Ms. Li transferred tens of thousands of yuan to the account provided by the other party for swiping, but did not receive the refund for a long time. The other party also asked Ms. Li to continue the transfer on the grounds that "the data is abnormal and the payment cannot be recovered" and "the data repair order needs to be done again". Only then did Ms. Li realize that she had been deceived and lost more than 90,000 yuan.

Both cases are currently under investigation.

Routine Analysis:

1. Fraudsters collect citizens' personal information (name, phone number, address, etc.) through illegal means;

2. Fraudsters use express delivery to send "scratch cards" to victims and guide victims to scan the code to redeem the prize;

3. When the victim scans the code to "redeem the reward", the fraudster will first give a small rebate by "paying attention to the store and browsing the goods" to gain the victim's trust;

4. After defrauding trust, further lure the victim to download the rebate app, carry out large-amount swiping, refuse to return it for various reasons, and induce the victim to continue to transfer until the victim finds out that he has been deceived, and finally the scammer blackmails the victim.
