This "hidden killer"
Actually, it's not far from you!
Recently, non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning has occurred from time to time, pay attention to the risk factors, beware of carbon monoxide poisoning!
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and non-irritating asphyxiating gas that is slightly less dense than air. Carbon monoxide in the environment is produced by incomplete combustion of carbon-containing substances and is mainly due to human activities. Non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning refers to carbon monoxide poisoning incidents that occur in the public's daily life, which is different from occupational carbon monoxide poisoning incidents that occur in production sites.
1. The high incidence of non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning
The peak incidence of non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning is from November to March of the following year, and the highest incidence is from December to January of the following year. The seasonal distribution characteristics are basically the same as those of the winter and spring heating seasons in the northern part of the mainland.
2. Places with a high incidence of non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning
According to surveillance statistics, more than 80% of non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning occurs in households. Other high-incidence places include: charcoal hot pot restaurants, barbecue restaurants and other catering service units, public temporary residential places, office spaces and collective dormitories of enterprises and institutions, hotels and bathing places, schools and childcare institutions, rural crop greenhouses, cars and other means of transportation, small and closed garages or basements, as well as the emerging leisure mode in the city in recent years - wild camping, which is highly common in tents.
3. Prevention of non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning
(a)
Coal stoves, charcoal fires and other heating equipment
1. If possible, choose the central heating method as much as possible.
2. When using coal stoves, charcoal fires and other heating equipment indoors, the coal should be burned out, and the equipment should not be stuffy; the equipment should not be placed directly in the bedroom; ventilation should be kept to keep the indoor air fresh.
3. The coal furnace should be properly installed with chimneys and air pipes, and regularly maintained and cleaned to keep the chimneys and air pipes unblocked.
4. When eating charcoal hot pot and barbecue at home, it is best to open and ventilate in a ventilated hall or keep doors and windows open in a timely manner.
5. When camping using coal stoves and charcoal fires for heating, open the upper and lower vents of the tent to ensure air convection, and burners without smoke exhaust devices such as barbecue grills should not be placed in the tent.
6. If possible, it is best to install a carbon monoxide detector indoors or in a confined space.
(b)
Charcoal hot pot, barbecue, tea cooking around the stove and other catering stoves
1. The charcoal stove is equipped with an exhaust hood above, ask a professional to install it and maintain it regularly.
2. Open doors and windows to keep indoor air smooth, and avoid eating in closed private rooms and other environments for a long time.
(c)
Gas and gas water heaters
1. When purchasing gas and gas water heaters, choose the ones produced by regular manufacturers and with qualified quality, and use them after being installed by professionals and tested them.
2. Maintain good ventilation when in use, and check whether the water heater is completely turned off after use.
3. Regularly overhaul the pressure reducing valve and leather pipe of gas and gas water heater, and replace it in time if it is found to be damaged, rusty, leakage and other problems.
(iv)
Gas, gas cooktops and pipes
1. When purchasing gas and gas cookers, it is necessary to choose the ones produced by regular manufacturers and the quality is qualified, and they are installed and tested by professionals. Do not change gas and gas pipelines without permission.
2. When using, remember not to stay away, strictly prevent the overflow of the pot from extinguishing the stove, resulting in gas and gas overflow, and check whether the stove is completely closed after use.
3. Regularly overhaul the gas tanks, pressure reducing valves, leather pipes and gas and gas pipelines of gas and gas stoves, and replace and repair them in time if there are problems such as aging, damage, and gas leakage.
(5)
Small oil and steam generators
Do not use small oil and steam generators indoors, garages, basements, etc., use them outdoors and away from doors and windows, ventilation and exhaust devices.
(f)
Car
1. When the vehicle is parked in the garage or basement, do not let the car engine run continuously, and do not sleep in the car with the doors and windows closed and the air conditioning on.
2. Regularly inspect the exhaust system of the car to prevent carbon monoxide leakage from the exhaust system.
