On January 25, the China Cultural Center in Cairo successfully held the 2024 "Chinese New Year Cultural Experience Event". Nearly 100 people attended the event, including Yang Ronghao, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, Shao Bin, Deputy Director of the China Cultural Center in Cairo, Ma Weimin, representative of Badr University, Rasha Kamal, Deputy Dean of the School of Language and Translation of Badr University, Chen Lifan, volunteer management teacher of the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation between China and Foreign Countries, teachers and students of the Chinese Department of the School of Language and Translation of Badr University, and students of the Chinese Language Training Course of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo.
In his speech, Yang Ronghao said that the Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival of the Chinese nation, symbolizing new beginnings and hopes, and also contains rich Chinese cultural connotations. The Spring Festival culture pays attention to "thanksgiving and blessings, and chasing the distance cautiously". The China Cultural Center in Cairo thanked Egyptian institutions and friends from all walks of life in the fields of culture, art, cultural relics, tourism, education and other fields for their support and cooperation in the past year, wished the friendly Egyptian people greater development and progress in the new year, and looked forward to the continued cooperation between the governments and peoples of China and Egypt in the new golden decade of the China-Egypt strategic partnership, and wished the friendship between the two peoples to last forever. In his speech, Ma Weimin reviewed the cooperation between Badr University and the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, and hoped that more in-depth exchanges and cooperation with the Cultural Center would be carried out in the new year.
On the same day, the courtyard and auditorium of the cultural center were decorated with lights, the five-star red flag fluttered in the wind, and traditional Chinese cultural elements such as red lanterns, Chinese knots, red posters, and giant pandas decorated the cultural center with a festive atmosphere. The students of the Cultural Center and the teachers and students of Badr University performed wonderful cultural programs such as poetry recitation, song singing, dance, and storytelling, and experienced immersive experience activities such as "making dumplings", "tea art", "writing blessing characters", "cutting window flowers" and "weaving Chinese knots". During the nearly two-hour experience activity, everyone was still unsatisfied, lingering, deeply feeling the reunion and harmony conveyed by the Chinese New Year, and appreciating the beauty of harmony in Chinese civilization. The event ended successfully after tasting the steaming and fragrant dumplings made by yourself.
The 2024 "Chinese New Year Cultural Experience Activity" is the first of a series of cultural activities launched by the Cultural Center in 2024, followed by cultural ambassadors to send blessings for the New Year, a special film session for Chinese and overseas Chinese to welcome the New Year, the 2nd Spring Festival Gala for overseas Chinese youth in Egypt, a walking Chinese New Year's Eve dinner, a fan night at the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, a "Happy New Year" Cup - Egyptian National Wushu Championship, "Happy New Year" - the final of the Chinese Food Cooking Competition and the Sunshine Chinese Food Night, Chinese New Year Film Week, "Happy New Year" painting exhibition, "Happy New Year" Arabic version of the Spring Festival Gala online live broadcast and interactive lucky draw, etc.
